The Star Anise Oil (cis-anethole) Amphetamines: PMA, PMMA, & PMEA. I Took A Pink Superman PMA (or 3) And Loved It Circa 2002/2003.
Too bad PMA killed some young people in Chicago circa 2000. They were used to weaker MDMA pills, and MDMA has a much better safety profile than PMA which has a steep incline into toxicity of the potentially lethal variety.

However, That Was Also When MDMA Still Worked.
What, did it get laid off? Lol. It didn't stop working. That's not to say there weren't batches out there contaminated with impurities and/or diluents, and it's not to say unscrupulous dealers didn't try to pass off some serotonergic stimulant research chems / designer drugs as if it were the real deal Holyfield MDMA, but there's nothing about that molecule itself that has changed, and nothing in human physiology just randomly changed across the globe either.

Did The Star Anise Amphetamine Family Lose Its Luster Like The Safrollers?
😑 … you know Isaac Newton was an alchemist, too, I've read…

I Really Doubt They Did. Or Is Ecstasy Much Harder To Source Nowadays, Based On It's Reputation As "a gay drug"?
I have Q's:
  1. is it actually hard to source?
  2. what makes you think it has a reputation as a "gay drug"? I've never heard this before about any drug but meth. MDMA is popular w/everyone regardless of orientation.

MDMA 8-ball: signs point to nystagmus ;)

Ozymandias
By Percy Bysshe Shelley

I met a traveller from an antique land,
Who said—“Two vast and trunkless legs of stone
Stand in the desert. . . . Near them, on the sand,
Half sunk a shattered visage lies, whose frown,
And wrinkled lip, and sneer of cold command,
Tell that its sculptor well those passions read
Which yet survive, stamped on these lifeless things,
The hand that mocked them, and the heart that fed;
And on the pedestal, these words appear:
My name is Ozymandias, King of Kings;
Look on my Works, ye Mighty, and despair!
Nothing beside remains. Round the decay
Of that colossal Wreck, boundless and bare
The lone and level sands stretch far away.”

Will Chlorotrimethyl Silane Work On This?

I thought your original bid was to make the agent starting from ephedrine.

Then there is the bid to make Methyl 3-amino-2-phenylpropanoate [99092-02-1], which has been done already:

Yes, For Bounce [Beta-Carbomethoxy-MethylAmphetamine; BCMA], Ephedrine Is The Preferred Precursor.

I Was Inquiring About 3,4-methylenedioxy-BCMA [3,4-MDO-BCMA] From Safrole Or Piperonal, I Reckon.

Made Possible By The Anderson Reaction Sequence.
Any idea why it is called "The Anderson Reaction Sequence"?

I was reading an old Janssen book on opioids about 15-20 years ago and it said the reason they synthesized Propoxyphene & Pyrrolifene was that the steric bulk from 2 phenyl rings is too great to form the ester so one of the phenyl groups needed to be changed to a benzyl group.

Yes, But The Bouncers Only Have 1 Phenyl Group Per Molecule. Besides, I've Already Tried Bounce, So It Must Be Makeable.
