"Based upon the true life story of a Police Captain in the South African Police force during the peak of apartheid unrest in the late 70’s, when he becomes more and more appalled at the actions of the force (culminating with his killing an unarmed man in the Soweto riots), Stander becomes the countries most successful bank robber (and respected by the general population) in an effort to highlight that it’s not just the black man that commits the crimes. The film becomes more and more interesting as the situation gets more and more out of control, with the whole force desperately trying to catch him as he (and his gang) make the force look like idiots. This is an exciting film, very well acted (especially by the lead Thomas Jane) and directed very effectively. This deserved more than a straight to dvd release here in the UK."

I watched Senna the other day, what a great documentary that was.
Even if you are not into Formula 1 it is still well worth watching.
The funeral scenes were very touching seeing how his death had affected seemingly the whole of Brazil.

That 10 odd minute one rolling shot in old boy where he brutalizes all those people is worth it alone :P

Anyone who wants a good laugh should check out Wizard People, Dear Reader

It's a full redub of the first Harry Potter film, though it's genuinely so well done that it deserves to be recognised as a film in its own right, parts of it are available on YouTube though you can find the audio (to bypass copyright laws you're meant to play the audio seperatly while having the sound turned down on the film), though there's a synched version available in a torrent hanging around.

It's got the same director as 'The worlds greatest dad' which has the same dry humour as god bless america.

Watched The Front Line late last night on BBC.

Been watching this on netflix,

Redline

Redline follows JP, a daredevil driver with his customized vehicle named Trans Am. He enters an interplanetary tournament, held once every five years, where the deadliest racers compete and many people plan to play the game for their own ends. The film is produced by the studio MADHOUSE (Ninja Scroll, Summer Wars), directed by Takeshi Koike (The Animatrix's World Record) and written by Katsuhito Ishii (Piroppo, Trava).

Hardly ever watch anime but this is wicked so far, reminds me of an intense cartoon version of Fast n furious/Wacky Races, quality animation, slightly cheesy voice acting but worth a watch. could imagine it'd be a right eye candy head fuck on ketamine or something

Apparently all hand drawn and took them 7 years to make

Director Zhang Yimou brings the sumptuous visual style of his previous films (Raise the Red Lantern, Shanghai Triad) to the high-kicking kung fu genre. A nameless warrior (Jet Li, Romeo Must Die, Once Upon a Time in China) arrives at an emperor's palace with three weapons, each belonging to a famous assassin who had sworn to kill the emperor. As the nameless man spins out his story--and the emperor presents his own interpretation of what might really have happened--each episode is drenched in red, blue, white or another dominant color. Hero combines sweeping cinematography and superb performances from the cream of the Hong Kong cinema (Maggie Cheung, Irma Vep, Comrades: Almost a Love Story; Tony Leung Chiu-Wai, In the Mood for Love, Hard Boiled; and Zhang Ziyi, Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon). The result is stunning, a dazzling action movie with an emotional richness that deepens with every step. --Bret Fetzer
