i wasn't sure if there was a 'k' in there or not, but given the music i figured yes ;)

derango - indeed - fuck, heard their stuff for the first time on christmas day... twisted as all get out. i like it a lot!

yay!

american trancers with good music= :)

Vertigo Records- Liquid Quit is the fucking bomb....dark squishiness mixed with the suomi shit.....check out Nueron Compost's remix of B.S.-Toxic

quasar-one day
deja vu fabrique(zolod)-
ocelot-dream selector (bom!)
Generator.Operator.Destroyer. from Temple Twisters records for the witches amongst us

Penta is also good..
born in russia i think , but living in america..
Especially his debut album titled PENTAFILES is very nice, with a dark edge but also melodic at times..

Monster Zoku Onsomb- Attack! Sick album, not psy trance but definitely some of the most psychedelic music I've heard. Punkpsycore or something like that. Does anyone know where MZO come from?

Downloaded this earlier, sick is the only word for it! punkhorrorpsybreakcorewotsit nuttery, love it!

Oh, and they're from Australia, apparently, one guy from them makes crazy breakcore-ish stuff under the names Nam Shub Of Enki and Ki Ki Ill.

Yeah, I thought they might be. Fucking madness, Nam Shub and Kiki ill are mad, not quite trance though, as a matter of fact, not trance at all. I think kiki ill is a member of MZO, as well as some freak called Fluffdaddy. You should see their film clips, hmm weird. Has anyone heard Planet of S.H.I.T? Another psyharmonics weird band.

Attack comes with the first MZO EP which is available for download from their website I think, def worth a listen

Without wanting to burst any bubbles, Neuron Compost is from Australia, I think he's half of hired goons. Very much spugadelic.

ah, how beautifully circular that i would be recommended some psy from right out of my own backyard... and linked to Thump Radio, no less. awesome :)

for the record, sentient's style is a bit too fast and (should i even say it?) "trancey" for my tastes. i think what i've found is that i just enjoy a lot of psy elements in my proggy 4/4 selections. some of the acts on the main stage at that rainbow serpent party look damn tasty though...

^^^Bear in mind it is SENSIENT that is playing at RSF- his style is certainly not fast or trancey, but very minimal. Sentient is different

What psytrance would y'all recommend to someone who's way into venetian snares and late-period autechre, with a background in industrial music?

i get the difference, ya bum ;) sensient isn't even on the main stage! i was mostly thinking it would be cool to see d-nox... and ticon.

^^^Lol, you sure? One more time, then- sensient is . . . oh, fuck it. Someone or other does something or other somewhere oh nuts

Yeah Ticon'll rock D-NOK too yeah

Ebola- psytrance you may like would probably be the finnish sound, Texas Faggott, Squaremeat, Countermine, Flying Scorpions, Mandalavandalz for very raw, experiemntal psy, with a definite industrial feel. As previously mentioned you may like Psy Harmonics, Aussie record label. Check out some stuff from The Nam Shub of Enki and also MZO - you should find there whole first EP there, maybe some really fucked up film clips too. Anyway, these bands fucking rock, probably my fave artists of the now.
This is probably the fifteenth time I've mentioned these groups, but their both crazee. Iaf you scroll up a bit, master of deception ahs put a good link to a suomi (meaning finish) saundi trance. For very minimal, industrial prog trance look up Krumelur/kroppsprak, or any of the Zenon label dwellers, Sensient amongst them :) Have fun, report back.

I shall indeed look into these.
I have some infected mushroom and some hallucinogen, but I wish these were...for lack of a better term, weirder, more complex, more varied, and of course harder edged.

so - turns out i was wrong! it's not Sentient i like but Sensient. @lterEgo, i'm sorry - tis all my fault lol :D

Sensient is really techy, minimal, borderline-rough-house, atmospheric stuff. it's much slower and barely trance at all, which is why i recommended it. all apologies :) for similarly progpsy stuff i turn to Shakta, Freq, and Antix.

back on track: Penta is goodness. for that old-skool russian morning trance flavour i do love a bit of Fungus Funk as well.

^^^Hey bro, you don't need to post that mix everywhere... just once will do ;)

Cheers.

ps. Armin van Buren isn't psytrance really

hmm
You should probably check the weirdest & most experimental side of psychedelic.. (suomi psy, e.g. http://rapidshare.com/files/9256867/Eraser_Vs_Yojalka_-_Lords_Of_The_Liverdance-2006-UPE.rar.html , or Haltya - Forest Flavour, as well as some Texas Faggott / Mandalavandalz)

As far as the background in industrial is concerned, I would recommend you some Schlabbaduerst Rekkords compilations... http://listen.to/schlab , especially Vol3 is industrial influenced.. )
