I'm listening to Lull by Antix, smooth nice ambient proggy trance. It gets a bit generic, but overall its a nice listen, particualrly on a 38degree day :)

I am really digging the track "The Messenger" by Entropy... :)

On new years day we were listening to a set called Night Time by MiM (from www.psytrance.cz) and this track is in there... I was lying on a couch on the veranda watching the clouds form amazing shapes... and never really listened carefully to the sample in this track before until this day...

They've basically used a speech from President Reagan... and changed it to be pretty much the opposite of what he was trying to get across... hehe...

Yeah, I downloaded that Nightime set, its really good. I think the sample is actually one I've got, where he goes on to 'say' a lot more pro-drug stuffs.

Have you or anyone heard of Dark Psyde, I'm going somewhere their/he/her is playing tommorrow night, don't know anything about the artists though . . .

Yeah I'd say that Nightime set is good dark psy, still quite intelligent and stompy without an overload of trippy shit that it's ridiculous... :)

Perhaps you're talking about Darkpsy (and not Dark Psyde)?

Darkpsy have a track called "I Feel" from the Theta Frequencies compilation (Acidance) and it's got a sample from I, Robot...

Oh and have you heard about the Particles of Space (??) festival? I believe it's happening the weekend after Rainbow... my friend wants to go and setup stuff for Adelaide... from what he's said it's one of the biggest ways of getting yourself heard/known in terms of music/decor/etc and shouldn't be missed!... but it's so close to Rainbow! I dunno how I'd wangle my way into getting MORE time off work... I'm going to Perth this coming week for my cousin's wedding and exactly 1 week after I get back I have my Rainbow holidays :)

I got home from work today & my little brother said "Here's a belated Christmas present" & then handed me a brand-new hot-off-the-presses copy of Prometheus' new album Corridor Of Mirrors! =D

His first album Robot-O-Chan is right up there with my very favourite psy albums of all time (I've never stopped listening to it since I got it really) so I've been anticipating his much-delayed follow-up for what seems like an age.

Just given it the one listen-through so far, but on first impressions it's sounding phenomenally well-produced, & predictably awesome! :)

I saw Loopus in Fabula last night, amongst others. Jeppe (half of phoney orphants) and DMMT. Kaya Project live as well. Kaya Project and Loopus in Fabula took the cake for the best acts of the night though. Wicked tunes! Can't really elaborate further as my brain is rather fried at the moment.

^^^Nice. Where'd did you see them??

I think Jeppe is DJing at Freebase (Big Mouth, St Kilda) in a couple of weekends I'm gonna check out.

Ultrapsyber, nah it is Dark Psyde, I think he may be a hardtrance DJ. I'll know soon enough :)

Koxbox- U-Turn is a pretty good album, I haven't fully devoured it yet but its growing on me.

Also been playing Oood- Free Range, absolutely great album. I'd love it if someone could tel me who plays what instruments....

At Brown Alley, it was the Tribeadelic after party... Freebase can be okay with international acts but it's mostly cheese. Chance for Spiro to have a wank.

You could find Colin OOOD himself @ www.psynews.org or just ask @ the review thread or @ General Section...

Yeah, I'll give you that. Its good seeing as its the only free and regular Sunday night-night.... I think Jeppe is playing on theweekend of rainbowserpent though so yeah

I'm going to post something just for the sake of saying I'll see ya's all on the forums sometime next week... I'm going to Perth tomorrow so I may not get a chance to go online... I'm going to my cousin's wedding and it's going to be 40C that day!... yikes...

Still waiting for my Saiko Sounds order to arrive! It's got stuff including Mind Your Own Isness, Make Rainbow in Your Slum and a couple of other compilations from about 2 years ago... :D I'll give you all the verdict when they arrive (prolly be waiting for me @ the Post Office by the time I return to Adelaide) :)

Agreed with Derango, easily the best psy I've heard... "the poisonous square" on their album is INSANE. Also check out their side project Hallucinogenic Horses and any of the stuff released on their label Sanaton records.

New sensient album pwns as well, at least the first 2-3 tracks do.

Yap and a very interesting collaboration album is expected to be released this year on Parvati Records.. : split album with Derango, Psilo Cowboys (Jahbo & Mussy Moody) and Maniac
Bubbles
(Syntax Error & Eske from the Hokus Pokus project)

Derango is a guaranteed success, don't know about the rest though..

I've been digging alot of what you might call "Twilight Psy" lately, stuff thats dark and driving and heavy but has melodies weaving in and out of it: Penta, Setherian, Terminators "Scary Baubles" (Dark Mix), Suria, and some stuff on the new Boogieland Fun Files comp. (wicked awesome Finnish psy stuff).
