Salvia has much more emotional effects compared with ketamine. Whereas with salvia you can get really frightened and that fear can feed upon itself, with ketamine any moments of panic are generally transitory. As I mentioned, if you're the sort of person who strives for control in situations, ketamine can become a series of frustrating/frightening moments as you struggle to assert control over the experience, but each one is an 'independant' event; with salvia (as with classic 5HT psychedelics) it's possible for the fear to compound itself until you're shitting yourself with 'the fear'.
Another difference is that salvia tends to produce gross distortions of body image, which can accentuate fear whereas with ketamine, the body just sort of dissolves out from under you (rather than get distorted into weird body images). I've had doses that weren't full k-hole doses where all I'm aware of is my mouth and throat, when I swallow - other than that, I'm just not noticing any of the rest of my body
