I’ve been spinning for 5 years, and up until just last year I’ve always used the cross fader for everything I spun. Now I just use the volume faders. I spin a lot of different genres… from Techno to Trance to House to Breaks and everything in between. Most of what I spin is dark and tribal. Good luck ravergirley on whatever style(s) you choose to spin. Come say hi at D2.

wendisoul said:ravergirley.... the advice given has been good... but remember that it takes a WHILE to learn to play out well... and that takes practice and most importantly confidence. Ask anyone (not just females) to help you with learning and I am sure that they will if they have time. What style you play has a lot to do with it too... D&B, Prog, House are all really done differently. If you watch Lady4square and Serendipity, they will use the crossfader, while I know that Molly and I do not at all. Most house DJs I know do use it.... so there are other things to think about too... just get some decks or find some to use and try it out.
Holler at me when you get there...
