Cheers SHM, i found it very disapointing that tonights' debate isn't filled by people who care deeply about the subject, but instead by some people who just wish to raise silly points for the sake of their own amusement and argue about semantics.:sus:

it finished about 20 minutes ago, and resumes at 8:28 Evey.

*just checked watch, yes it is on now, or should be if things go to schedule. Frankly i cant be arsed, though I'll record it, and maybe watch it/listen to it later.

There is currently a speaker that seems to know what she is talking about. 8o She's just finished her points.

Am I right in what I just heard? The cunt HOWARTH just apologised "for all the talking you've had to put up with from me", withdrew his amendments, all those good things people wetted themselves about on Si Dreads thread, and then said "but this one is truly important" and therefore implied all the good stuff, which he's just withdrawn, wasn't at all important, while HE WANKS ON ABOUT EDUCATING THE KIDS.

LISTEN TO THIS SHIT PEOPLE. THIS IS HOW YOUR DEMOCRACY WORKS. THIS IS THE SHIT YOU VOTE FOR.

It is denying people agency.

And usually, the blame is pointed in the wrong place. For instance, the time I tried sex work. I did not think of myself as a victim of my client. Similarly, as a recreational drug user, I do not regard myself as a victim of my drug of choice (it's just 21 atoms of carbon, 23 atoms of hydrogen, one atom of nitrogen and five atoms of oxygen, for crying out loud; it has no mind; it can't get concepts like victimhood) nor of my dealer. Don't point the finger at someone who is just trying to earn a bob selling something that makes people less unhappy for awhile. That is a mere distraction. If you are desperate to paint drug users as victims, at least do us the service of painting us as victims of a system that is intolerable without chemical assistance, rather than what gets us through the day.

So, yeah, that is basically why I think you should be very careful about who you assume is being victimised -- and by whom.

Apparently it's illegal to die in the houses of parliament.

A stupid law maybe, but setting fire to the place would have the secondary benefit of criminalising the lot of them according to the fuckwittery of several hundred years of stupid laws.

Of course if the thought police are watching, this is a statement made in jest and in no way an incitement to take any course of action!

It's like other stupid laws and bills in recent history - Government wants to do x, consultations begin, everyone says what a bad idea it is, comes up with loads of amendments and arguments, months of process happens, and in the end the whole process just rubber stamps the x the government wanted to do in the first place with very little significant difference if any.

If this goes through it's just the beginning, sooner or later everything that the government doesn't explicitly approve of in writing, will be forbidden.

the government is realising that we pay for a lot of their wages as in tax and that is going to cost them millions that what they have realised we are indispensable source of income and the uproar at the death of kids from this bull shit we are a under minority but we still pay their wages
