I never was a Marian Hossa fan......less so a Crosby fan.....so I take this ending with a "meh." This game, and ultimately series, was won by Pittsburgh's Kennedys, Eatons, Scuderis and of course Talbots. Crosby scored one goal in the series. Malkin was a factor, and he isn't a pussy, so I give him full marks. I was only hoping Crosby was hurt so much that he could not skate with the cup. That would make me satisfied.
All I have to say is that if Pittsburgh didn't absolutely blow balls for 4 straight seasons, they wouldn't be in the position they are now.
I still have good feelings about the Flyers under the captain Richards for the next 11 years. I just want to say it now....
CLAUDE GIROUX.
the next Forsberg?
And we also have the #2 overall pickin 2007, James Van Riemsdyk coming up. The Flyers were the Flyers' only obstacle to getting by Pittsburgh. Carter played too soft in game 2 when he should have buried a 3rd period to all but secure the game:

If Carter would have finished there, as we say in economics class, ceteribus paribus, the Flyers would have been up 3-2 at home. And then they lose game 6 by a score 5-3, which I went to, after opening the game up with a 3-0 lead. That was simply a matter of not having the drive to clamp down on that game. John Stevens should bear the brunt of that one a bit. I think there is a better chance of the Flyers winning more cups in the next 10 years than Pitsburgh.....they just gotta do it.
I like the Ray Emery signing. A goalie with some size and physical ability to boot. He has a chance to steal more games for the Flyers. More shutout and big game potential. I don't know about his ablity to focus day-in and day-out.
