nhl 08-09 season: official thread!

^i could see a win tonight and i really do think they will beat them in detroit

The last time the wings had a game 7 in Detroit was against the Av's in 2002. They won 7-0 against a far superior (and tested) goalie in Patrick Roy. I understand that its not the same team(but many of the same players are still here). You put the wings in a corner and they will fight back. Game four showed this. They were down 2-1 and they came out and put 5 goals past Hiller. I'm not even going to bring up how bad we got fucked in game 3. Its over and done with, but suffice to say its possible this series would be over now. Jonas Hiller is keeping the ducks in the series. He has proven he can be beat( as game 4 proves) The ducks are being dominated right now[time of possession, shots on goal, scoring opportunities]. The only hting the ducks have going for them is power play goals. Hiller better be on his A-game because the wings are going to be sending pucks from every direction frequently tomorrow.

and on an unrelated note: Go caps!

^i do agree with you on that

shuddup! i bet you they do. i say, 4-2 caps, ovie with 2 goals!

so far 2-0 pens, so now if i am not mistaken its the second period and caps have to score 4 goals, can happen but not likey....when exactly are these goals supposed to happen?

ovie? aww its cute you have a name for him
<3

edit: oh look they just scored...did you mean 4-2 penguins and ovechkin scores the 2 losing goals?

ok now i feel a little bit, but the smallest amount of feeling bad i could have

4-0 penguins second period
ive seen teams make come backs so theres little hope :)

but you can admit Washington is looking pretty sloppy tonight no?

lol i call Antropov at home and he gives me what i want haha jk ;)

i think ovechkin will score tonight though, he seems to be the only one with his head in the game

edit: we seem to be thinking alike lol

do you not get Versus?

nope i don't get versus. which pisses me off because they show A LOT of games and when i had center ice, those games always got blacked out for me. i also live in the cleveland region not the columbus region so during the season when the jackets played on the same night as the cavs, i always got the cavs games instead of the jackets games. don't get me wrong, i'm a cavs fan, but i'm a jackets fan first. those games that were broadcast on FSN that i didn't get to watch, plus the ones when they were on versus (usually if they played the red wings), provided me with many headaches trying to find them online and having to download various softwarez etc to watch them.

Goodbye Ducks. Thank you for an entertaining series. Thank you for going down to the last second and keeping me on the edge of my seat. Thank you for getting us in playoff mode to stomp the blackhawks.

Chris Pronger, I hope you have another cardiac arrest on the ice. You are a piece of shit dirty cocksucker. Enjoy your summer off. I hope you choke on a cock.

Suck it Malkin! had the officials not come to your rescue you would have been fucked up so beyond belief that a suspension would have been the least of your worries for game 3. Luckily the league came to the rescue and bailed you out of the suspension too. You're now down 2 games to none. Go lick your wounds bitch. The cup is staying in Detroit this year.

Blackhawks!!!!

I was so happy to see the wings play the hawks, Detroit is my #1 with Chi being my #2. But I have to say that after game 5 (i think) that Chicagois one of the most undisciplined teams I have ever had the disgrace to watch. That was terrible.

Go wings, penguins can suck it!

fuck the red wings, go Penguins
if they play the way they did the other night I think they could win it all
we shall see
Game 7 - Stanley Cup Final tomorrow night, June 12 @ 8 PM Eastern Time on NBC

how about hossa!?!?!?

that's all i can think about now!

the pens just won the cup! hossa was a free agent last summer and the pens wanted to resign him, but he took less money to go to detroit, because he felt he had a better chance of winning the stanley cup. so he left the penguins (who lost to detroit last year in the finals) to go to detroit (who just lost to the penguins in the finals this year). wow... you HAVE to feel for the guy. that... is irony. :D

what a fucking series though!!!!!

I never was a Marian Hossa fan......less so a Crosby fan.....so I take this ending with a "meh." This game, and ultimately series, was won by Pittsburgh's Kennedys, Eatons, Scuderis and of course Talbots. Crosby scored one goal in the series. Malkin was a factor, and he isn't a pussy, so I give him full marks. I was only hoping Crosby was hurt so much that he could not skate with the cup. That would make me satisfied. :)

All I have to say is that if Pittsburgh didn't absolutely blow balls for 4 straight seasons, they wouldn't be in the position they are now.

I still have good feelings about the Flyers under the captain Richards for the next 11 years. I just want to say it now....

CLAUDE GIROUX.

the next Forsberg?

And we also have the #2 overall pickin 2007, James Van Riemsdyk coming up. The Flyers were the Flyers' only obstacle to getting by Pittsburgh. Carter played too soft in game 2 when he should have buried a 3rd period to all but secure the game: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5llgaRMGrnk

If Carter would have finished there, as we say in economics class, ceteribus paribus, the Flyers would have been up 3-2 at home. And then they lose game 6 by a score 5-3, which I went to, after opening the game up with a 3-0 lead. That was simply a matter of not having the drive to clamp down on that game. John Stevens should bear the brunt of that one a bit. I think there is a better chance of the Flyers winning more cups in the next 10 years than Pitsburgh.....they just gotta do it.

I like the Ray Emery signing. A goalie with some size and physical ability to boot. He has a chance to steal more games for the Flyers. More shutout and big game potential. I don't know about his ablity to focus day-in and day-out.
