nhl 08-09 season: official thread!

Ducks pwned the Sharks Thursday night 4-0...Jonas Hiller is easily one of the best goalies in the league right now. He saved the Ducks' ass in the first, and they came through in the 2nd and 3rd and put the Sharks away.

Ducks are definitely going to take the series. For a team that barely made it into the playoffs, they're doing f'ing awesome against the #1 team in the league :D
 
oh i am so depressed about the game yesterday, we are looking like shit
and the coach was suspended from yesterdays game

standings for the remaining teams
Capitals and Rangers tied at 3...game 7 tomorrow at 730 i believe
Devils and HUrricanes are going to have a game 7
Penguins knocked the flyers out saturday
Ducks have a 3 win lead over the Sharks...game 6 tonight, god i hope they win and get rid of the Sharks
Chicago 3 and Flames 2 game 6 tonight at 9:30...go Hawks
 
Man, I was really disappointed in the last Ducks game. They lost 3-2 in overtime, and even though the scoreboard indicates it was a close game, the reality is that the Sharks easily could have won that game 8-2 if not for Duck's goalie Jonas Hiller. He was fucking phenomenal, but you can only rely on your goalie for so much.

Sharks have really stepped it up a notch in desperation, and if the Ducks aren't careful they're going to end up handing the series over to them :\

Hopefully they'll put the Sharks away tonight in Anaheim, though.
 
so guys if you didnt know the Rangers coach Tortorella suspended Avery from Game 5 because of his penalties and roughness, that same game head coach Tortorella sprayed a spectator with a water bottle, threw it at him and it hit a lady

he was suspended from yesterdays game, and now my friends and i are thinking he might get fired. which sucks because he has brought the teams spirits up...

what do you all think?

Fuck I am a CANUCKS fan and im getting bored. But fucking happy my CANUCKS swept a team for the first time in canucks history. GO CANUCKS GO HAHA
 
well i think the hawks will win its ducks and sharks that determine who the canucks play. if ducks win the canucks play hawks if the sharks win the canucks play detroit. and i know people will say detroit but that is a 50/50 split the canucks have been on a real roll lately so I cant really say that the wings would win or lose.
 
Flames just scored a goal, its 3-1 now but i dont know if they could make a come back...too early to tell

still tied at 1 for Ducks and Sharks...the game isnt on Versus right now so i keep updating the espn hockey page lol

I hope Detroit plays Vancouver. They've both been sitting about a week, and while rest is always a good thing, momentum is usually more effective. I also hope Canucks/wings series, because I need someone to talk shit to in an effort to feel more masculine when my wings stomp your team. :)

No hard feelings Ryanlaughlin. The jackets played with heart and I take back all the things i said about the fans being classless in Columbus. I'd probably throw bottles on the ice if I were there and they made that call against the wings.

the wings are the (cliche coming) model franchise. they're really a tough competitor at EVERY stage so i would never rule them out. they've got speed, defense, skilled offense, a defensive minded offense, an offensive minded defense (as well as shut down), a proven veteran goalkeeper... i mean... this team has it all and it mostly builds from within. it's never a shame to lose to the red wings. i do wish them well as they're an enjoyable and classy (for the most part hehe) team. they're attractive hockey.
