Mite as well just buy H or Oxys :) Nothing lasts forever.
Can't find any H or oxy :\. Might go for a drive tomorrow to buy a few larger packs.

Its hard to believe my local chemist (which just helped me not 20 minutes ago select a 75 pack of panafen + because its cheaper she said!) will soon be requesting my SCRIPT for big packs.
The girl at my local chemist does the exact same thing :D.

As do several of the chemists I go to :/

Interestingly, one of them still had the nurofen+ 24 boxes sitting on the shelf.

Seriously give it 6 months to a year and we will be paying what a 100 pack used to cost for these measly 24 packs, its a load of bollocks.

Apart from taking my name in vain...

I don't think we will ever see codeine based products go prescription only. The reason is that the PBS is not structured to take on the cost of these meds. Our health system is also lacking with respect to walk in clinics which would be needed if codeine based products were pulled. Think about all those lawn bowlers and golfers that would have to get a script, not to mention all the people with cold/flu.

It would definitely be a step in the wrong direction to ban these substances all together. It has already been said in this thread, but the example would be USA.. no otc codeine, but as much oxy as your budget can afford.

Go figure.

Its unfortunate...

And yes THERE ARE THAT MANY PEOPLE OUT THERE THAT CWE lol!

There are alot of us..its funny! But 2 of my local chemists have run out of the 75 packs of panafen plus. Plenty of N + 72's left though..so gonna have to switch to them..but they are so fucking expensive.. I just went and grabbed a 48 pack on my breaky run. They arent taking them off the shelves they are just selling out and not restocking lol..

ITS FUCKED! But hey...im sure it might help some of us cut down. Ive had it like ever day the past 2 weeks cause i just had a mate move in with me. And its OH so much more fun when you have a buddy to take drugs with..

Bar viagra.

They arnt sold out they are taking them off the shelves. None of the chemists around my area (10-15 of them) have it in stock. I grabbed the last 72 pack the other day.

This thread is about OTC codeine being rescheduled. Before things veer off course, I'd suggest discussion surrounding extraction be kept out of this thread, it's been well enough covered elsewhere.

Walked into a different chemist today. Grabbed 2 boxes of 100 pills, no questions asked again when bought with sum hair gel too hehe

Saw a sign saying codeine based medicine will not removed from shelves, it will only be behind the counter and u will have to ask for it. So that means that it will still be available pretty easily. Not sure about the package sizes tho.

It has always been like that here in Perth, atleast at the chemists I frequent. Have to go to the counter and ask for it, and they just pull it off the shelves behind the counter for you.

Then the usual, "are you on any other medications?", "remember to take these with food", "thanks, goodbye". Sometimes they don't say anything though.

wow dodgy pharmacies. all otc product buying customers should be asked a series of questions. Your not being picked on if you do get the 20 questions, the person is merely doing their job properly and wanting to better your health.

btw can everyone realise that the staff at pharmacies are only doing their job. I know there is sometimes a touch of arrogance but everyone needs to have some understanding. Its their job, they are possibly liable and when people are rude it doesn't help the situation.

p.s you may find significant price discounts on the big boxes (panadiene, nurofen and C/O). %50 cheaper i have seen.

nothing over 40 will be allowed. however i am sure the pharmaceutical companies will respond to this and release new 40 tablet boxes.

Interesting, I thought 24 was where they actually set the limit. No doubt we'll see some 40 boxes out soon.

That depends. To an extent, I agree with you, and I don't take issue with being asked questions about why I'm purchasing a certain medication. As you said, it's their job to make sure I'm getting the right medication. But I do take offense when the questions take on an accusational tone, as they occasionally do. Pharmacists should make suggestions or point out risks, but ultimately the decision to purchase or not purchase a particular medication should be up to the customer. It isn't their place to tell me what I can or can't buy, or to judge me for what they think I'm doing with a certain medication (as I'm sure has on at least one occasion been the case) after I've bought it.

yes your correct. Around 10 percent of the people i work with will be noticeably rude to customers obviously abusing and the other 90 percent tolerant and friendly. it all comes down to the perception of drugs by the general public. Also i found particularly when i first started working and even now its can be hard to ask questions without sounding accusing. Even adding a forced smile can come across badly haha

ok just looked on pharmacy guild webiste

"will be Pharmacist Only Medicines (S3) when:
* containing up to 5 days treatment and up to 12 mg codeine per dosage unit"

i am guessing that since 6 and 8 tablets is the maximum daily dose for ibuprofen and paracetamol combinations respectively.
8 times 5 = 40 panadeine etc
6 times 5 = 30 nurofen plus etc

At one of the chmists i go to, the lady is american and she is SOOOOOOOOOO fucking stoked to serve me everytime. Then tells me to "have fun" when she wraps up my multiple packets of panafen + at any given time. I just got back from grabbing 2 48's on a juice run from my office.

She is MAJORLY enthusiastic about everything hahaha... love it!

But then there is another lady who i think is slightly retarted who just seems peterbed everytime im at the counter lol. I frequent these chmists almost daily and i have not been questioned about my use once! In like months and months..

They love making money i guess! And probably are aware its not doing me that much harm if im CWE'ing anyways!

I have an Asian owned pharmacy just down the road, just went and picked up 2x 75 packets of Panafen Plus without a question asked, first time I have been there.

Every place I have been to have had plenty of large boxes on the shelves , Perth SOR.

^ Its the only logical thing to do, by May 1st I will hopefully be sitting on an arseload of pills. These restrictions are a joke, it wont be SO bad if they bring out 40 packs, I can just about live with that. If I have to run around buying 24 packs I am going to lose the plot.
