Its hard to believe my local chemist (which just helped me not 20 minutes ago select a 75 pack of panafen + because its cheaper she said!) will soon be requesting my SCRIPT for big packs. I think its otrageous..now they won't even let people help themselves when they are in pain. .!

I'm getting more and more sick of this stupid fucking government everyday, you're all fuckheads for voting for kevin rudd seriously. Those of you who did, but it seems to be a pretty huge number of yas.

And i'm sick of this stupid mentality of banning and restricting everything, just because a few fuckwits fuck themselves up, they feel the need to make everyone elses life harder. Instead of addressing the problem with education and shit they just restrict shit more and more.

This shit will never end, think in another 10 years how much further shit will be restricted. Everything thing was rolling pretty sweet with the howard government, then people voted in kevin rudd and he fucked it all up with his governments severe incompetence within a year! Then he "gave" everyone $900 for filing your taxes and everyone loved him again.

And the fucked thing is, i bet my balls he will be voted for again. Stupid fucking Australians we're the most spineless, politically unaware, gullable, apathetic people around.

Big deal man you should know by now that it doesnt matter who you vote in , they are garunateed to piss off 90% of ppl off with policies we dont agree with....... we are never ever happy with the governemnt in power so just deal with it. And chillax :D

Went to the chemist today to stock up. Nurofen plus and most brands of the 100 pills/bottle were out of stock. Are they pulling them off the shelf or is everyone stocking up? I mean there cant be that many recreational users out there can there?

I don't know what everyone is so annoyed at there is still no required ID check and when on earth do you need 72 nurofen plus unless your sporting a pretty big daily codeine habit.
 
Well it is nice to stock up and have a weekend on the stuff, but yeah on the whole it's not that big a deal. I decided to grab some for tonight because my back is being a bitch, walked into one pharmacy, walked into another 2 minutes later, had 600mg of codeine. No problems.
 
^same here. it's never been a problem for me and never been given the 20 questions besides one or two ocassions. the people behind the counter know me pretty well from filling out all my past and current opiate scripts for my PM so i guess that helps out.

even other friends who don't use have never had a problem getting a box of codeine. strangely enough it's the anti-histamines (phenergen) that they quiz you about *shrugs*
 
Yeah I never understood that. Does promethazine have some hidden secret abuse potential even BL doesn't know about? It seems unlikely, but they keep it under a bit of a watch.
 
^ Its restavit (doxylamine succinate) that I have had some issue with in the past, never promethazine.

So I went to another chemist the other day and they would only sell a 24 pack, they didn't take ID though. This isn't going to be the end of the world but it is shite. Thing is, its going to cost about 1.5 times what used to get me 2 doses to get off once now and the hassle of going to several chemists.

Who the fuck are they kidding that this is going to change anything? I honestly believe this is just a scam, they get to sell codeine for more because people can't get bulk packs. Give it 6 months and they will jack up the price substantially I bet, all in the name of public interest.

I am really pissed off, on one hand it might make me reduce my codeine use a little bit but on the other I am probably just going to use more benzo's to compensate and honestly I am doing enough of those as it is.

Why couldn't idiots google codeine and learn that its easy as piss to CWE? It shits me that it is always idiots ruining it for the rest of us. How the fuck could they be so dumb? I predict an increase in doctor shopping after May 1st.
 
^i've never had a problem with doxy DM. there's 25mg gel capsules called dossile which i usually buy if i'm purchasing it - no name or ID taken like with phenergen.

i can definitely see a sharp spike in dr shopping and costs for codeine as well.

one of the ladies at the pharmacy this afternoon told me nows the time to stock up on the big boxes of codeine before may 1st:\

ha, nah there's no secret abuse potential that's for sure except for delerium if you're into that. though OTC loperamide does have a very similar structure to fentanyl and with a little work can be made into something pretty fun.
 
^ I wish my pharmacists were like that, the only pharmacy that sells me big boxes with no qualms will only sell one at a time. One of the pharmacists gave me some shit last week because I went in on Monday and then again on Wednesday but he still sold me the stuff.

I think that when people have to start going to the doctor for what should be OTC pain relief that there is a good chance tramadol and endone will be more commonly prescribed for long term patients with mild pain. This will lead to some doctor shopping. As will the clued up drug users who used to just buy their large codeine packet and CWE happily but could never be fucked going to the doctors, I am sure a large percentage in this boat will figure they might aswell take a trip to the doctors and get scripted some fortes and bullshit and anxiety or sleeping disorder to get some benzo's while they are there. I mean its no secret benzo's are easy as piss to get.

You have intrigued me with loperamide, thats immodium right? I might have to do some digging, not that I would ever do anything silly but illicit chemistry is something I find interesting.

Seriously give it 6 months to a year and we will be paying what a 100 pack used to cost for these measly 24 packs, its a load of bollocks.
 
yeah loperamide is immodium, an anti-hypertensive and helps with diarrhea. it is an opiate but it's nothing recreational, it doesn't cross the BBB like others though some people claim to get a buzz out of it (check out the loperamide thread started by malfunkshun in OD, and a few other threads about it). it's great for withdrawal.

you're probably right about tramadol and endone being prescribed more liberally. i actually see tramadol being used pretty widely for pain nowadays,i'm suprised it's still not a scheduled drug here.
