Mustard on Hamburgers

I was a vegetarian for a decade and the only thing I really craved was a freaking What-a-Burger w/ cheese( a Texas classic). It comes with mustard <3

I honestly couldn't fathom not putting ketchup on a hotdog.
I have started to notice lately though that a lot of people do feel that way, I never really realized how many people are mustard only users on hotdogs. Heh, shit if you open my fridge, you'll find ketchup and mayo and salad dressing and hot sauce, but no mustard whatsoever.

relish, mustard ,onion, celery salt, tomato, pickle sprear, sport peppers is the correct way..some places put cucumber on it which i really like but hold the tomato

See, that's a damn tasty sounding hotdog minus the mustard part. Everything else lay it on man, the more the better
 
Ive had a couple hamburgers since I first read this, it's funny cause when I put mustard on my food it made me think of this page both times.
 
It's mustard or ketshup around here Oklahoma. Never ever ever ever salad dressing though now mayo is fine but the vinegrettes and all the blue cheese crap. People in the real south use mustard and ketshup only. Mustard mostly.
 
Chicago dogs are the best. I once went to new york and asked for a dog with everything and I got saurkrat and mustard, it surprised the shit out of me. Chicago style has everything and then some no wonder most of us are fat as fuck :)
 
A chicago style dog is usually on a poppy seed bun and has onions, tomatoes, relish, a spear pickle, celery salt, mustard, and should be all beef. :)
Oh and I like sauer kraut it was just weird to me to order a hot dog with everything and get something completely different then Im use to.
 
Ya man that's definitely a chi only thing haha. Tomatoes and a pickle spear? I'm not too sure about how that would taste but, I'll take your word for it. Next time you get one post a pic cause I gotta see this thing.
 
I'm literally addicted to mustard. And I tend to put it on everything. That being said, I don't like putting it in my burger unless it's a chili cheese burger. In case it is a chili cheese burger I put like a quarter of a cup of mustard on it.

It's funny to see this thread being bumped because I was just thinking about it recently when I saw a fast-food commercial with a burger that had mustard on it.

When I make hot dogs at home I usually make a Chicago style hot dog, minus a few things. First off I'm not sure of the availability of poppy seed hot dog buns around here, but I haven't seen them in the regular supermarket chains around here. Next thing I leave out is the tomato since I don't like it. I put everything else on it except for the celery salt, and I substitute the pickled sport pepper with pepperoncini's. I really like it, and since I'm trying to get full off of 1 or 2 it's better than just putting some mustard and sour kraut on it and needing 3 or 4 to get me full.

Mustard on a BURGER? No way. That's just...unnatural.

And I don't care for so-called "barbeque sauce" on anything. I once worked in a restaurant and they had a bottle of "liquid smoke." Yuck. Smelled like something they cleaned out of a chimney.
 
I like my hot dogs/burgers condiment free. I'm in TN btw. Most places around here (fast food places and restaurants both) put mayo on most sandwiches and you have to ask for it to not have mayo. Otherwise, they are usually plain and they will bring you ketchup and mustard dispensers.
 
every place is different I guess but most burgers are served with ketchup my way

then again the cheesesteak is kind of like a burger, and I've never seen anyone put mustard on that
 
Isn't a cheese steak slathered in chez whiz? I think I saw that on one of those food network shows. That's fairly extreme in it's own right if you ask me.

"liquid smoke" is supposed to simulate the taste of smoked meat and it's not that uncommon. You can get it in various wood flavors but, it should absolutely not be used as a sauce. It's more like a few drops in a marinade type of thing as that shit is very concentrated usually.
