Mushroom season 2009

I've never been mushroom hunting.. although I'd love to go sometime this season. Possibly up to the redwood forest in Norcal to get some morels and chanterelles as well as some other magic offerings.

Near pure/pure alcohol works but has low yields and takes 2-3 days of screwing around for best results

Methanol is the go!

Psilo's simplified method for beginners is as follows...

CRACKER DRY SHROOMS (THAT MEANS NO MOISTURE)

GRIND INTO DUST/POWDER (FINER THE BETTER!)

PUT POWDER IN LARGE JAR WITH SEALING LID

ADD METHANOL UNTILL YOU HAVE A SLURRY AND SHAKE LIKE YOU'RE BATTING OFF IN YOUR TEENS.

LEAVE SLURRY OVER NIGHT IN A COOL DARK PLACE

SHAKE JAR IN MORNING, LEAVE TO SIT (HAVE BREAKY/SHOWER)

FILTER THROUGH COFFEE FILTERS AND SIMPLY EVAPORATE THE METHANOL

PROCESS CAN BE REPEATED WITH SHROOM SLUDGE

I HAVE REFINED THIS TECHNIQUE AND IT'S SAID TO YIELD UP TO 40% PSILOCYBIN AS A HCI SALT

YES THERE IS METHANOL TO GRAM OF SHROOM RATIO BUT I CAN'T BE FUCKED RETRIEVING THE RECIPE AND IT'S NOT THAT MUCH OF AN ART FORM



The difference between the extract and eating/boiling shrooms is amazing.

Bigger than the difference between awesome LSD and bad, bad, bad LSD

Gone is the nausea and a large amount of the head fuck that shrooms (especially subs) are renowned for.

The extract will only last a few days on it's own but when stored in alcohol above 50% or 100 proof in the old scale it will keep for years.

I have had a bottle of single malt scotch with the extract for over 2 years and it retains 80% if not more of it's original potency.

Dried shrooms will lose 50% or more potency when stored in perfect conditions over the same period of time

That method doesn't look too hard. Though obtaining actual methanol as apposed to ethanol could be, as "metho" sold now is actually denatured ethanol. Could the extract be insufflated to reduce the amount needed? or would the come up be so fast the results would be undesirable? Thanx for the tip, though I won't be indulging this season.

It sucks when people steal your books. Or return thema year later in primary school libary condition. Spent thousands and thousands on books and texts and some you can't get anymore or weren't meant for the public.
 
Theres alot of private land around that is a victimless crime. Cows will always find the greener side of the hill. Often old land with no house or demolished little shack houses that are waiting for the right price when it becomes some new estate with smurf look-alike houses. I wouldnt normally pick on peoples farms without knowing them and asking them. Sucks that up here we're limited to cow fields I guess.

never have i extracted them.. i have left the bad boys simmering in hot water which i found gives 10x the better response as to straight up munching them.
extraction sounds like a treat though.
 
And say Psilo, if you went picking and accidentally got a few bad ones would this work on them and still leave you with psilocybin or would the end product still be dangerous?

I'll keep it a bit more simple this time.

Make sure they are 100% Psilocybe mushies only. Methanol is a simple solvent, and that is a very basic extract. Theres no guarentees poisons from other species will not end up in the end product. If used on known psilocybin mushrooms only, you will end up will inactives, 4-HO-DMT and its related sisters if applicable. You could keep cleaning the product but remember after drying a mushroom, aproxx 90% of its weight is lost and then after the extraction the compound(s) are very potent. You will need scales such as those used for 2C-B and simuilar.

As a pure salt it can be active as 1-2mg. More commonly would be 10-20mg though for full effects, and this won't be pure salt, it will be a bit harder to dose and maybe cause an over dosage (bad trip, panic attacks, body load), so be careful and make sure you know what you're doing if you decide to do this.

Making a tea always brings it on quicker and harder. But yeah you got the idea, just simmer not boil :) Seen alot of people make a thick black sludge from boiling and not washing their mushrooms first, then watching them try to keep it down.
 
hmm me n some mates went last year bout mid june down to the nannup-balinnup road to search. looked for 3 hours through the forrests before giving up. just found bright red poisnous looking ones haha.

2 weeks later i went down with family an stayed at a farmstay place, n next to a tree stump found some that looked just like what id seen in photos. white stem with a gold top.

didnt eat cos just couldnt be sure. never actually seen one apart from photos

im going to bali in june an you can buy mushies there. reckon its possible to get spores in a bag n bring em back n grow em?
