Going on my 2nd hunt tonight. I love bushwalks in the dark!

Yeah, I'm finding subs pretty frequnetly atm, its still freezing and will be for a while, so there should be a fair bit of time. Anyone found any a. muscaria, I haven't had any luck in that regards...

found shitloads like a forest full

Has anybody ever used google earth to suss out good pine areas? Its fun :-)
I had a look to find some nearby parklands/bush.
I'm not sure what pines look like from a satelite though, all the trees look the same!

Melways is a lot better, trust me.

Ah theres an oval, might go have a look....

2 hours later your tripping balls.....well thats what happened with me anyway :)

I love the look of them, they are definately one of the most amazing shrooms i have seen.

They are natures art at its best!

I will never take them again unless i want to feel extremely close to god or completely delerious lol

You shouldn't have too much trouble finding them if you have a decent look, as i said earlier i have never seen so many. This year i have been finding rings of 20 or more A. Muscaria on the edges of pine forests in the green triangle area.

Thanks man, will have a look.

Kelly 666, empty your PM box, I can't reply to you.... PM me when you have. :)

Hey joni, welcome to bluelight!

You should do fine in southern s.a right throughout august...

These few days of warmish weather are just teasing us and it will be back to sub zero nights, 16 degree max days and pissing rain in no time i promise you! lol

Study this thread and also www.erowid.org and try to take in all the info you can.

Remember, knowlegde is power and it's also safety!

Good luck with your shroom hunting and happy tripping

Psilo

yeah? thats pretty sweet then, its been raining a fair bit down gawler way today, wich is fairly enjoyable lol.

yeah ive taken in pretty much all the information i can from here and erowid, im still pretty nervous about picking wrong things though, im going to have to try and find someone with experience.
unless i just go to shroomery.org, that would probably work aswell haha

Ive been at the shroomery for 3 and a half years now, ive learnt everything i know from that place, its DEFINITELY worth it if you want to ID your on mushrooms. You can request ID's there as well which is very helpful.

I fucking hate it that I live in PA. There are NO magic shroomies around here that grow wild except for the Fall Big Yellow Laughing Gyms- and I don't want eat those for two reasons- the 'magic' content is really low, which means you have to eat god knows how many to get illuminated; and I've read that they taste absolutely wretched. Oh well, I may give them a shot anyway this year because come October they're literally EVERYWHERE. Anybody ever try them out there? Just curious to see if they're worth it or not- seeing as how I'm always down for Big Laughs, haha.

^^^Just pick loads and extract or brew it into a smaller tea so you don't have to eat them all. I've heard of people consuming them but I've never heard anything about taste etc.

have eaten some gold caps (fresh) a couple of times lately. picked the melbourne region by some friends. Ate maybe 4-5 medium size ones (stem and cap) over the space of a couple of hours and have a had medium strength trips. there doesn't seem to be any short supply of them at the moment.

I personally think alot of people bitch too much about the taste. its not that bad. just chew them quickly and wash them down with a tasty drink. me and my friends often break them up into small pieces and swallow them whole if we get sick of the taste.
the best way I have had mushrooms is in a shake in thailand. i think its mixed with granadine (sp?) which is used in mixing cocktails. Its actually kind of tasty. not something you would drink to enjoy the taste, but its more palatably than some alcholic beverages.

Joni, I'm from down Gawler way too. I'm gonna go hunting for some shrooms soon also, probably next month (August). What are the "Subs" like that seem to populate the area round here? What is the trip like?

Will it be that hard to find mushrooms for 2 or 3 people?

(Reading shroomery.org right now)

[EDIT: Stop asking for locations to find shrooms, this isn't allowed. hoptis]

I just got back from Adelaide earlier today, and although i didn't have a look for mushies, i noticed that everywhere and i mean everywhere is fuckin mulched/woodchipped. I imagine they would be plentiful after rain up there.

i did i heaps big post before, but it didnt go through for some reason :(

went up to forest today, thought it would be hard to find anything, but like 2 mins into walking there was hell shrooms everywhere.
not sure if they were subs or anything though, found 2 that im pretty certain that they are, and some that i think might be.
but yeah, going to get spore prints tonight and get them up at shroomery, ill put pics up here aswell as soon as i can.

yeah hopefully it goes good, that would be aweosme.
but when we got home we looked up pics of them on shroomery, and they look so similar to the ones in the forest, even heaps of ones that we didnt pick up, pretty much everywhere we walked we could see them.
so yeah, if they are active then that would be sweet as.

i have given up on trying to find shrooms by myself. im in wollongong, NSW area and ive gone on a fair few hunts this winter just after rain etc.

3 X forest hunts
1 X farm areas
and just generally looking everywhere i went.

closest i came was finding 10 or so Fly Agaric Mushrooms. It sucked though because if i was by myself i wouldve taken them, but i was with a little cousin, so i threw 'weird looking mushrooms' around. pretty big waste.

Anyway, my main problem is i live on the coast. the Fly Agaric Mushrooms were in the mountains. and it does make it worse that i have no mushroom friends to hunt/buy with/off.

Next year i suppose, but i was hoping for fun times!
..more time for study

Went for a walk to day and was surprised by the amount of shrooms around, albeit inactive ones considering the last few days have been warm and dry. Found coprinus, mycena, conocybe, panaeolus and cortinarius sp. The mycena intrigued me most as they are a yellow sp. that i found last year growing a week or so before the liberties popped up. The star find was a pair of small but brilliant purple
russula which, upon nibbling a piece yielded the expected hot taste. Also found some polypores and a few unknowns, not bad for a few hours in the middle of summer!

Can't wait till October rolls along. :p

EDIT: Ahh whoops, thought this was E+A discussion, my bad.
