Higher dose shroom trips can be fun and immersive, but also more difficult to deal with if they turn bad. Take an amount you feel comfortable with based on your past experience with mushrooms, and be conscious of how the movie is affecting you. A Scanner Darkly is brilliant, but it's also pretty dark and I could see it feeding negative/paranoid thought loops if you start to fall into a bad trip. Obviously, if you notice this happening, you should stop watching the movie.

I find that if you're having difficulty with a high dose trip just take a small dose of your favorite benzo and you'll relax and quit worrying about it. My last trip had quite a few moments where the walls were bleeding, I had a third eye in the center of my head, and when I looked at anyone in the corner of my eye their heads would do that same weird thing they did in the movie Jacobs Ladder where it wuld buzz all over the place really bad. It seems really hard to have a bad trip on shrooms considering the calmness that overcomes you, but ymmv.
Personally I can imagine seeing any of the most horrific images my mind could muster on shrooms and not be the least bit bothered by it, which for me differs from all the other psychedelics I've tried.

Awesome. Seriously, don't watch Fear and Loathing. Others have said not to waste acid on a movie, and I have to agree with them. But if you must, Orgazmo may surprise you.
 
I don't know about acid, but with 2c-b or K I really enjoy anything by Miyazaki, especially Spirited Away. And definitely Fear and Loathing as well.
 
Train Spotting, Requiem for a Dream, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, dazed and confused, Goodfellas, any movie really ... its not like you are going to understand the storyline or be able to follow up on whats going on in the movie.

I watched What the bleep do we know on about 25mg of 4-aco-mipt a while ago, and it made no sense at all.

Get outside, I know it has been said to death, but there really is a reason people keep bringing it up.

If you must watch a movie though, Fallen is a good choice, as is Saw, and maybe eternal sunshine of the spotless mind and anything by George Romero. I love zombie movies though.
 
I have never been able to watch movies while tripping, for some reason I always focus on the actual glass of the TV. I would like to watch Fantasia though

Though this is an LSD based thread, I must say that shrooms + Spike & Mike's Twisted Animation pair together quite nicely.

On acid, though, it might go either way - heh.
 
I can thoroughly enjoy myself while tripping if I watch a visually spectacular movie on mute while listening to some kind of electronic music.

Try watching Sky Captain & The World Tomorrow and maybe try and throw on Sasha's Involver for the soundtrack.

I've watched it several times on mute and couldn't even tell you what the movie is about but while tripping it is truly stunning and will match up in perfect sync and harmony with the music.
 
don't watch a movie when your doing acid, go listen to some tunes and let your imagination take the best of you! but if you do shrooms then its another story... watch spun (about meth addicts) or mischief night (uk comedy)... both those movies are good to trip on.
