Movies and Drugs[MEGA MERGED]

Fear and Loathing would be horrible for me on psychs. There's just too many negative emotions and actions (the knife scenes in particular) for me to feel comfortable watching it, though I have no doubt it'd be trippy as hell. But if one were to watch it, the intention would likely be to bring about uncomfortable feelings and confront them. Again, not my cup of tea.

I recommend:

Fantasia 2000
Alice in Wonderland
Yellow Submarine
Pink Floyd, Live in Pompeii (kinda dark and spooky, but definitely trippy... "Careful w/ that Axe Eugene" in particular)
...and any Pixar film

You'll be fine if you're an experienced or even a semi experienced tripper. Fear and Loathing is mostly just a ridiculous, light hearted, funny movie and you should be able to see that even with a "head full of acid".
 
Amityville horror would freak me out on shrooms!

I watched blow on 2 hits of acid + 2 grams of cyancensens shrooms. It was an interesting experience :D If I hadnt had taken acid twice in the past month before then I probably would have tripped out a little too hard. I had built up some tolerance.

I think watching movies is fun on psychadelic but you have to chose carefully. And make sure everyone in the group agrees with the choice!!!!
 
Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas would suck, acid or no acid. That has got to be the worst movie I have ever seen in my life - which comes close with Jacob's Ladder. Just because it is about drugs everyone thinks its so awesome. It was a real big dissapointment to me, I don't really care too much about Johnny Depp (he doesnt suck though) but Benicio del Torro happens to be one of my favorite actors - and he just sucked balls in this movie.

The craziest shit you can watch on shrooms? Spun.

Oh, dreamcatcher sucked too by the way. I don't want to sound to optimistic here.

My god that movie was terrible. let's look at all the random shit those crazy tweakers are doing. woohoo. heaven forbid we have a plot.

but anyway, i have to say that charlie and the chocolate factory was good on acid. Especially the oopa loompa songs.

It is an excellent movie, and it is not about drugs.
But it is pointless and stupid to watch is you are not an avid reader of HST's work.
I thought it was the dumbest shit ever for a while, then got into Thompson.
 
When i'm tripping i never wanna watch movies, i just get bored and wonder off. They never hold my attention.

Watching that movie on mdma killed a really good pill. Bad idea. As is taking acid and watching any kind of "serious" movie. I watched The Professional on acid and we were booted out of the cinema for laughing too hard.

OH MY GOD.

Me, my best friend, and my girlfiend watched spirited away near the peak of a really good pill.
It was fucking INCREDIBLE.
I think it was the movie though.
It was just so.. FUCKED.
The connection I felt to the characters was crazy. I assume the others felt it, since no one complained.

Maybe it is how we do our E though. I nor any of my friends have ever been to a rave or some such. We sit around and talk. Watch fucked up movie and listen to music sometimes.
It is always a super time.
 
Blow (the movie)

Did u notice when he was smoking weed and selling it everything was pretty awesome for him except his girlfriend (or wife?) died of some disease and he eventually got busted. But everyone he dealt with was cool or whatever.

And then when he does cocaine and his life sucks. food for thought
 
well, it's a movie intended to sway you. yeah, a lot of people's lifes suck when they get involved with drugs. but they sucked before too, just in a different way.
