"AWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW"
cheer the fuck up brad, you sound like an arts student (cough, oops).
you also contradicted yourself in the last paragraph, stating people only care about themselves and following it with a statement about how people actually wonder about you.
large companies such as mcdonalds DO have poor work practices, and we all know that AusKick and McHappy Day are only PR stunts in order to give a human face to an organisation that makes inedible food. and while i despise people who end a rant with "lol", FatZ made a valid point in that they have created jobs.
the money a high priced fast food exec makes trickles down EVENTUALLY to a high school student who may need a little extra on the side.
the money an oil baron earns trickles down to the guy working a midnight shift at a petrol station (sound a tad familar?)
as a side note, the above statements are in no way condoning Reaganomics :D
sadly enough, we should all be grateful some members of society have the lack of morals and selflessness. i can't think of a better combination that results in 'drive'. if it weren't for people like these, we wouldn't have the sprawling organisations which hire and pay people with little qualifications in order for them to pursue something greater in their lives. in no way am i condoning the the ethics, but what is the alternative?
selling handmade necklaces at the sunday markets?
you're still fuelling the machine dude.
save your rants.
i meant to reply to this properly anyway
when i say people only care about themselves, i mean it only to a certain extent. of *course* people care about their friends, but i find it quite disturbing that people will almost always put their own wants above others' needs (especially when those others are strangers). now, that might seem like human nature, but i dispute that. specifically regarding the wants/needs things. i can very much understand that people will put their *needs* and their family's needs above others. that's both obvious and fair; if someone came to me and said, 'hey, i need this money to go feed my children,' but that very money was coming from my own money to feed my *own* children, then they could get fucked. if, on the other hand, i was living a comfortable upper middle-class existence and that money was instead coming from my yacht (

) fund or something, it's a lot tougher to justify. now, that's a bad example and i'm a fucking hypocrite, because i hardly seperate the world off and only pay for my necessities (i'm a drug user for christ's sake), but the example still serves, i hope, to illustrate the fact that most people wouldn't even think twice about helping other peoples' needs if it infringed even slightly on their wants. which i find disturbing. at the very least, whether i'm a hypocrite or not, i'm thinking about things and trying to change myself. other people...well other people vote liberal, so they obviously don't even give two flying shits at all.
i'll respond to the rest of your post later. but it does make sense
