i am leet haxor.
I know LSD is pretty safe. The point is that there is more than one death on the substance. I will give full citations if i can find them at this moment.
That 1975 case was pretty intresting. The 320mg IV was a pretty intresting study. It can be found on PubMed (if you can afford to buy documents--god bless universities hehe). I never mentioned it was millions of hits? (EDIT : Ah, i now see you werent addressing me BeachHome)
Citation for the 320mg : Griggs, E.A., and Ward, M. LSD toxicity: a suspected cause of death.: The Journal of the Kentucky Medical Association. April, 1977: 172-3.
That mescaline isn't what I'm citing. Intresting to read though

Thanks for that info. I was talking off the top of my head, so when i looked up this 1953 death it does not count. It was behaviorial toxicity, not toxicity which killed this man.
There is also an intresting study in my archives somewhere of a group of people snorting 80-90% LSD tartrate, if I recall correctly, the study claims at least 3 of the people would have died if they had not received medical treatment. The truth in this diagnosis, I do not know. But the situation was real... (EDIT : citation for this is Klock, J.C., Boerner, U., and Becker, C.E.: Coma, hyperthermia and bleeding associated with massive LSD overdose: a report of eight cases. The Western Journal of Medicine 120(3):183-8, 1974.)
Now, another case which is important is a death of a 25-year old man who died from toxicity. The man had roughly 1/2 the above (the LSD snorters) LSD in his blood.
Citation for this one is Fysh, R.R., Oon, M.C.H., Robinson, K.N., Smith, R.N., White, P.C. and Whitehouse, M.J.: A fatal poisoning with LSD. Forensic Science International 28:109-13, 1985.
Oh yes, one more death.
"A fatal poisoning with LSD" . Forensic Sci Int 1985 Jun-Jul;28(2):109-13 Fysh RR, Oon MC, Robinson KN, Smith RN, White PC, Whitehouse MJ.
Thats the second one. I forget the dosage on that one, but it was once again some absurdidly high dose.
SO, what does this shit mean?
LSD causing fatal toxicity in humans : 2 (possibly 3)
LSD causing a close call to fatal toxicity : 3-8+
peace,
Nitin
