Mega Merged WD Thread

To give you an idea on how good it's working. I was forced to quit. I didn't quit by choice. But I have a script for 240 percs that can be filled today and I have no desire at all to go get it filled, and I'm not going to.

what was your daily dose at the time you stopped? did you stop cold from that dose, or did you taper for a couple/few days first? i'm taking considerably more than you stated that you were (i saw what you said, but was wondering if you had a different dose this time when you quit), but this "remedy" sounds interesting as hell. and, since i have every pharmacy med at my disposal, i might just try this tactic...besides, i'm quitting smoking too, so it's a double positive.

more info please, mrcool. thanks.

zyban=welbutrin

When I stopped I was taking approx 25 perc 7.5mgso no I didn't taper. I would have if I would have known that I was cut off but I found out after I took my last percs. I haven't looked but I'm guessing that 1200mg or zyban is well over recommended dosage and as I said before, either the zyban or the l-tyrosine or both combined has been giving me a "feeling way too fuckin good feeling. I suspect it's a little of both. I was perscribed it for low energy and decided to quit smoking later. I have been taking the zyban for about 3 months so I don't know if that has something to do with it or not. It takes a while to get into your system good but I'm guessing it's the immdeiate side effects rather than the long term benefits that is causing this.

Oh yea, they say zyban works on about 50% of smokers and doesn't help the other 50 AT ALL. would it be the same thing for opiate wd also?

hmmm. yeah i was prescribed 150mg tab 2x a day. thats 4 times less a dose that you're taking. i was perscribed buproprion (zyban/wellbutrin) for mild add and the doc said it would give off mild stimulant effects. i dunno, i never took it long enough to feel any reactions, but i'm definitely curious about this as I am an opioid addict too at about 320mg of oxycontin a day, and i have both l-tyrosine 50mg pills and wellbutrin and i've got to w/d eventually...

jebba, just to be entirely accurate. The first two days I didn't sleep well, and had very mild symptoms. Sneezing, Goosebumps and monster yawns. On the 3rd day. I upped the zyban from 600 to double and started taking the l-tyrosine. After that it has been like I described

good luck ^^^, just be tough through the ups and downs, since you are on day three, it should be easier--the hard part is knowing that as of today, you have those 240 sitting there--then, not letting yourself convince yourself that you will ONLY take 1 or 2, as needed, just to get through the hard times...the mind does crazy things when it comes to WD. Keep us posted.

MrCool, be careful w/ your dose of buproprion--it has been known to cause seizures in people w/ no prior history. Is it time-release?

I have quit several times cold turkey with very high tolerance (30 mg of fentanyl daily) from almost two years of straight use. First i used Elival, an old-generation anti-depressant (a tricyclic i believe) and it took care of insomnia and the shits... The second and most recent, and successful, time i used demerol (non-IV) and codeine, then valium, xanax, and theraputic levels of dxm (i'm no robo tripper). Try it, good luck and stay clean!

Zyban == Wellbutrin SR at 150 mg BID. Thus, it is time released, but not quite as time released as the new Wellbutrin XL. Thus, it is generic and should be cheaper as bupropion SR. I have been on bupropion for years as an antidepressant: first at 400 mg (200 mg SR BID) and now at 450 mg (450 mg XL qD). It has been a wonderful chemical that truly saved my life. Granted, I have never taken an opioid, so I have no experience using it for withdrawal. However, it certainly allows me to start and stop smoking cigarettes at will (for up to months at a time) with no residual nicotine cravings. I have taken it at up to 900-1200 mg in one day, with no side effects (it was originally designed to be taken at 450-900 mg / day for depression), but it can cause seizures. If one has ever experienced a seizure or has a family history of seizures, one should never take more than 450 mg in the extended release form.

Hi, I'm kinda in your same boat, I quit using oxycontin daily 6 days ago, even though I did a 3 day taper with the OC and ended up using 90mgs a day(I was at ~300mg a day), then I used codeine and tramadol on days 1 and 2 and now is day 6, I get benzos now and then, the tramadol doesn't work too well with the insomnia and shits, so I also take benadryl and soma, and smoke lots of weed. Today it's getting kind of better I'm on 275mg tramadol (150mgs morning and 125mgs in the afternoon with some diazepam and lousy bromazepam). I've taken quite a lot of immodium though, and generally I wake up first when the immodium stops working, and then I get awake every 15mins, tough one night I got drunk and took large doses of alprazolam and soma I managed to sleep 7hours.

Well whatever, guess I'm rambling, my questions: How long should you reccomend me to keep using the tramadol? I plan on taking it for 4 more days and then on day 10 quit all opioids (well I'll have 200mg of oc as a backup, but hidden away from me for future use), would this just intensify the w/d on day 10, or since I already quit oc and ben taking crappy tramadol, that only effects me slightly, if that. I'm wondering if it's gonna be a walk in the park compared to cold turkey, or if it's gonna when the real shit is gonna start (or better said start again, get prolonged)?
Also I had 2 seizures, random ones but one was because of tramadol use about 1 and a half-2 years ago and I was hozpitalized, the other one was when using OC daily and occured in december (I think, don't remember) and was more random, tough I bit my tounge and blacked out and had spasms and all that shit, but just spent some time on an ambulance and got away) so even though I can get wellbutrin I think I'm not gonna try that way, I know I shouldn't take tramadol, but I do it anyway. but I'm interested on the l-tyrosine, since I have a bunch, do you think it'd work on its own for example starting tomorrow?.

Sorry for the rant, but well I'm w/ding you know the drift... what other meds (aside from the obvious) do you reccomend or have experienced AFTER the first week of w/d to gain more energy, but also to be able to sleep,function,etc...I mean OC used to do all that for me for more than a year, but though it's been a fun time, it had to stop sometime. I think it's gonna take a good while till I can function and be at my best again without any sort of opioid, but I'm taking a vacation.
Maybe I won't visit the forums so frequently during this month cause I'll get cravings and memories of my oxy and lots of other stuff-binging days, but for sure I'll be checkin out now and then (well maybe I'll get addicted to bluelight again sometime during next month).
Well that's it I hope I can get some sleep tonight, your replies ar highly appreciated.

Thanks

-D.

DLPA will probably work much better than the l-tyrosine, so check that out sometime. Search for more info on it..

Geezer, how long have you used for? Since your habit isn't too bad (i was at about the same daily dose as you, if i'd have to settle for oxycontin--perhaps 40-50 mg less for maintaining), my opinion is to just cut out the opioids all together, use benzo's if you have to, and just gut it out. Using codeine or tramadol will just prolong the process. The idea is to get opioids out of your life as quickly as possible; if you're actually intent on quitting. But it'll be at least 2 and a half days before you START to feel better. But its worth it if you are serious about it.

Oh and FYI&IMO; i relapsed three times recently--with oxycontin, meperidine, and a small amount of codeine. After they wore off, i didn't go into day 1 w/d... aside from more mental craving, i was right back at where i was before i dosed, no progress; but no step back either. So its not all that bad, but its not an effective way to actually quit.

But you must have amazing will-power if you can keep that oxy "hidden" from yourself... have you yet to experience cold-turkey?

good luck, geezer! I have been oxy-free for a couple weeks now, with some low-dose bupe thrown in to cover the worst...catch me on PM and empty your inbox.

As for taking the tramadol and codeine, I recommend simply stopping them--it does prolong the process...not to say that your WDs will be bad, but mine lasted (and people can argue this) at least 2 weeks solid (i had been using for many years nonstop, with an occasional WD thrown in because of being unprepared)....in fact, the hardest part is adjusting to sobriety when you are feeling better. Keep up the good fight...it aint easy but it is easier than going through a couple WDs in a short month.

Fentanyl withdrawl

Does anyone here have any experience with fentanyl withdrawl? how does it compare to other opiates both short and long acting, and how fast will it occur?

i have UTSFE but there seems to be some controversy surrounding this subject. any input is apreciated.
