My cat Inuyasha has been having the time of his life since we made the move from Memphis, tn to Central Florida. He can now go in and out of the house freely and roams our fenced back yard. He chases critters around all day and has become quite the hunter.

In fact....

He Brought me this little present the other day while I was on the porch. He Dropped it right at my feet meowing proudly.

Thanks for the dead snake kitty!<3

Could you eat something that you knew was a 'pet'?

I personally don't think I could. (Free ranged and 'pet' is something else)

I wouldn't eat anything I couldn't kill myself - I have sort of convinced myself that with 'bacon' you don't have to kill the animal, you can shave a bit off and it will grow back :D

I could not eat something I knew was a pet, nor could I eat something I couldn't kill myself--Partially the reason I stopped eating meat. :P

That's quite a disgusting thought that you can just shave off a little and it grows back. Ewww

When it was necessary to walk my dog in a residential area I would have him walk on the right where there was a strip of grass between the road and the sidewalk...not on people's lawns. I picked up and bagged his poop. There was a few garbage cans on the route I took. Non poop picker uppers are lazy fucks. Now I have the luxury of walking him off leash in the woods. He is smart enough to go off trail to shit but if he didn't I would move his shit off the trail.

I put down my first dog with a shotgun. He was very old and ill and unable to walk any longer.

We had a farm , though this dog was more of a pet. Seemed the humane way to do things.

Yes I do. pick up after them blah blah blah. there are more important things to worry about then dogs on lawns imo :)

If I had to put one of my pets down, I don't think I'd use a gun. It seems too nasty to me...either shoot him in the head and pick the brains up with a rag, or shoot in the heart and watch that moment from life to death, from this little guy who's been down for me since day one. If it my choice was A) have dog/cat suffer through tremendous pain for an unkown amount of time or B) shoot the pet, I'd probably shoot the damn thing. Luckily I don't live in a world of A's and B's; there's usually another choice to make. As far as eating animals, even pets if you're a vegan, I would not underestimate the human desire to live when faced with the choice between life (even if living means going through with an atrocious act) and death.

I have. My cat Midnight got attacked by a bobcat and somehow made it back home after missing for 2 days completely torn, mangled, an ear was missing, An eyeball was semi-popped out of the socket, full of deep, bone-visible lacerations, and the right leg was obviously broken. I was hysterical. I knew that there was no saving her. She was the sweetest cat I've ever had.

I gently picked her up, wrapped her in a blanket, put her in an open box, grabbed a .22 pistol, and put her in my car. The whole while i'm tearing and saying it's going to be ok sweetie. We go to a dirt road outside of city limits and I set her down. I keep talking to her telling her how much I love her. I couldn't see her suffer anymore. I gently petted her and wrapped her head with the blanket, took out the pistol after saying a prayer, and shot. I shot my fucking cat. after I did, I was so lost. I just sat down.

I re-wrapped her in more towels, picked her up and put her back in the box and drove home. I made a very nice grave and put all of her things (Toys, 1 Oz. bag of Catnip because she loved to get stoned, heh.) and said another prayer. I was so lost for about 2 months. I never realized how much happiness an animal could bring to someone, and how so much pain they could bring someone when they die.

Good job, BL. You made me all teary-eyed and shit. Makes me feel like a puss, and I'm a guy!

Thats my little girl. I dont normally dig lap dogs but she was cute and came from a litter that my wifes little sister's dogs had. She snuggled up with me when she real little and I was sick. She melted my heart then and thats when I caved to little lap dogs.
