Thanks , will read into! So in regards to sleep, how much sleep do you need to get which will help these LTCs? As much as possible ? Cos I've heard that apparentley oversleeping can be as nearly as bad as under sleeping so I'm not sure what to think .... Next week I've got a week off work and just plan to sleep as much as possible cos I only really get brain zaps when I'm tired and think this week off could really help. Cheers
Agreed with Martian, 8 hours is average but if you feel better with more then by all means sleep lots. I wouldn't spend too much time lying in bed awake though.
There is some evidence that sleeping too much (and definitely too little) is associated with increased mortality in elderly but the increased sleep could be a compensation for a disease state or sleep apnea or fatigue, so I don't think the increased time spent asleep is causing the increased mortality. Definitely don't about too much sleep in your situation, but be WEARY of becoming deconditioned. Cardio is especially important if you find yourself getting dizzy or weak standing up.
