Lyrica (AKA pregabalin) = Neurontin's replacement, BUT effects the same receptors much more potently and constantly because it has a different chemical makeup. (Search for yourself). Its no Lexapro/Celexa racemix type thing. This is the real deal :

Bizwire :

The Food and Drug Administration slapped Pfizer's new drug, Lyrica (pregabalin), which treats the pain of nerve damage caused by diabetes and shingles, with a "controlled substance" label, making it harder to prescribe. The FDA also rejected it for use in treating epilepsy. In September, the FDA rejected the drug for use in treating anxiety. It is now available in the USA for prescriptions. It was launched in Europe in July.

Search for yourself - reports on Yahoo, Google, pubmed etc for "pregabalin" or Lyrica. Lots of nice info, especially for real pain sufferers like generalized anxiety or fibromyalgia (GAD disapproved in US, currently in studies for fibro)

Drug is avail. in the UK as a non controlled substance for epilepsy also neuropathic pain and easy to get for off label stuff such as sleep or anxiety.

This drug is basically super-super-neurontin (different chemical formula THOUGH, similar/same receptor sites as neurontin though) Research indicates it is NOT addicting, and I know first hand, compared to benzos, it is a totally different type of experience, and don't even get me started when i actually did mix it with Xanax. EEEEK. Complete disinhibition almost , don't even want to think about the experiences I had that week!

I told you guys over a month ago my experiences and how this would be a very nice drug (and still IS!) :-) Nobody listened! Ole well. I am glad this can hopefully validate the non-neurontin believers because neurontin is crap for a lot of people, but Lyrica fixed that problem, just take 600mg+ or much more at once and you'll feel XTC smoothness of your whole skin and body (no pain), be benzo euphoriaed slightly, and have a very errily effect to GHB. Only at the non approved higher doses of course. BTW max dose daily is 600MG. Thats what i would start with, or taper up, be on the safe side. Just make sure to take em all at once. Anything above 1000mg is total bliss! I bet anything Lyrica will be either pulled off the market or slapped controlled substance in Europe as well =(

It has some legitamate uses as well, very effective for sleep, anxiety and fibromyglia (which it is in studies for currently). Increases slow wave sleep, which increases growth hormone. Dopamine flood over later.. (sound familar to any other drug, hint hint...?)

Read my other posts on it!

It feels VERY, VERY similar to GHB and/or XTC at higher doses or more like a freaky combo of both. More GHB, or some undescribable pain killer. Great for anxiety, sleep, motivation, you name it.

When i first took it, at slightly higher doses, my entire body was pain free (not opiod like at all though) but like, no nerve pain, i took a shower and like, everything was fun to touch and my body didn't feel "uncomfortable" from getting out of the shower into the cold, in fact, it felt like i wanted to dance, hence the XTC/slight stimulation at high doses. I could walk, drive and do everything straight, it didnt effect coordination like benzos , as much at least.. My eyes did get red though, nothing Visine doesnt cure.

Very VERY strange and cool very new medicine, anyone in Europe your doc may be able to prescribe it to you off-label for anxiety, as that was one of its original indications - GAD, in that study, it actually MATCHED or EXCEEDED both Xanax and Effexor separate and combined!!! Google this study for yourself. I could not believe it exceeding Xanax for GAD/SA/PANIC. From my experience, only the higher doses over 600+ do anything to recreational value, but many people here are probably different, so use caution if you get it.

I know I can't give sources here, sorry guys, but *it is out there* and fairly easy to get :-)

High dosages for effects began after 600mg all at once. After this it is pure bliss. Lasts ALL day long. Very long half life or something. I take 1200 in the morning for example, and the entire day and night my life is wonderful.

I have experienced some tolerance, but not much. Also, UNLIKE benzos, it seems to be relatively safe to withdrawl suddenly which I did with no problems except little sleep for a few weeks... It totally effects GABA/Calcium flux differently and is highly unique. Not similar to a benzo really except for sedating and anxiety reducing issues (at the high dose's it is strangely stimulating like XTC like i said before..)

It is in the same class as Neurontin now. Some people say they get buzzed or high or whatever on Neurontin, well, try Lyrica 600mg+ at once and titrate up. For people where Neurontin was NEVER effective and crap - Lyrica has a specifically different chemical formula which states it will effect many more individuals than Neurontin did - due to absorption and other things I can't remember off hand.. so don't rule this killer drug out.

I am sure there will be others in the coming years reporting about Lyrica, I am glad I was one of the first to provide some information. If anyone cares, I did not originally intend to use it recreationally, but for my fibromyalgia which it has basically resolved.

Best Regards,
tcluna

MARK my words. Lyrica will become an active topic of discussion for the pharm drug users in the next months and years.

Take 800mg your first time.

High dose Lyrica is the closest thing to GHB I have ever experienced. It is also errily stimulating with an XTC like property.

Again, Mark my words, cause when you guys start floating your questions or reports of this new drug, a year from now (thas already out by the way) I will be bumpin this post to the top.

Its not controlled in Europe and you can order it online.

I actually read your first post about Lyrica and became very interested in it. I asked my psychiatrist about this drug but she knew nothing about it! Probably because it is so new to the US.

I also saw what you had originally posted about it, and asked my pain doctor who prescribes me neurontin for nerve pain about it, he also had not heard of it! I guess it was only approved very recently. I have anxiety and nerve pain after an accident I was in, so that sounds like it would be an awesome medication for both. I'm wary of both benzos or ssri's longterm for anxiety. I'll wait a little while and try my psychiatrist who is certainly a bit more prescription happy than the pain doctor anyways. Thanks for the info! If not for you I wouldn't have heard of it at all!

my doctor has prescribed me Lyrica as of last week. I will pick it up tomorrow at the Pharmacy. They had to special order it because apparently no one else there uses it :p I don't know whether to be proud and happy or scared,.... but I'll tell you folks how this stuff works for me.

oh btw I am prescribed oxycodone, neurontin, ambien, xanax, and Avizna (time release morphine). yup, that's my Narcotics lineup....

I would advise against abrutly stopping if you have been taking it (and abusing is work, because you are taking much larger amounts) daily for a while. You shouldnt abruptly stop taking any pharm you have been on daily unless you know for sure there will be no serious problems. One should always taper. (With all the known drugs, it's up to you to rough it or not, cause we know what happens with those...every detail of the fucking withdrawls for christ sake.) Dont ever stop abruptly taking benzos if you have been doing them for a long time...you could siezure and even die.

Anyways, back to Lyrica. I read some info at a medical/health messageboard, and some people have reported some bad withdrawls if taken for a certain amount of time..I dont know what that is, how much, etc. Plus, everyone is different.

I guess what i am really trying to say is, DONT just stop taking this drug if you have been using it quite extensively for "X" amount of days, weeks, months, etc. I say this because we dont really know what would happen, since it has hit the scene so recently. At the same message board, some doctor posted that people whom have siezures/disorder are more likely to have a nasty withdrawl from an abrupt stop in usage..including violent sieuzers.

Man, as an avid fan of neurontin myself, I VERY MUCH lookfoward to using this chemical. I am very confused and frustrated though - I have a script all written out for it, but my doc keeps telling me it hasn't been released yet! Yet, you say it has been.... can anyone provide me with proof that it has been released? Like i said, i already have a script waiting to be filled, whenever this shit comes out, well i see my doc today sooo ill have to start bugging him about it again..

I can't wait to try this shit with ambien either!!

My friend had a load of DHC 30mg (IR, no other active ingrediants) and Pregablin (uknown strength) in August, and I didn't know/think they were recreational. I didn't know what the hell it was, and I tried looking it up but I thought it was called 'Pregevlin', heh. I only got one chance to try it and when I did eat a couple I was also on 150mg DHC, tramadol and alcohol aswell at the time, and didn't realy notice the high. Probably because the opiates cancelled it out or something?

I've never tried neurontin anyway.

NEWS BREAK

*New Designer Club Drug Epidemic*

The new designer drug pregabalin running under the street name "lycia" is taking the clubbing community by storm, several high users were admitted to hospital due to a 3gram overdose inducing semi-lethal lethargia and skyrocketing levels of communal hugging.......

anyway , sounds good but i'd be very wary of somthing by which you have to take 4/5ths of a gram to over 1gram which is 500mg over the max dose. Especially since its so newly approve & the label says "Not Approved for doses over:" which really means , we really wouldn't have a fucking clue what happens to a monkey , let alone you over "x" dosage.

take care mate & have fun ;)

Lyrica feels very good- much better than neurontin. I won't have any problem dropping neurotin from my medicine schedule. Lyrica does indeed stimulate much more of my body and my mind feels like I am floating in the clouds.

I haven't taken more than 150mg at a time. That's my daily prescription. I will try more some day but my back pain is constant so I dunno, not that much. I get some great visuals when I close my eyes. Everything feels soft to touch. OMG I like Lyrica so much more than Neurontin....:)

GREAT so the "wonder drug for anxiety disorders" is out and the USA of course has it, it MAY arrive down under in 10 years, we STILL don't have Hydro Oxy!!

Stick to the Valium ETC til then i guess.

It's controlled, so no doc will ever give it to me (because they love to toss me dexies and adderall for ADD I don't even have, but no downers), and even if they did, my HMO wouldn't cover it and it would cost $1000000/month.

Well get all the Dex and Adderall you can get, and build a supply to have for your means they may come in handy, many folks on "downers" need em for energy :)

Not to bring a post back from the dead, but I took 300mg of cimetidine before I took 10mg of Valium. Then I took 100mg of pregabalin (Lyrica), and I absolutely loved it (great combo BTW)...but, I think that 300mg of pregabalin on its own would be nice. For all those suffering from any type of nerve pain or anxiety, it is indeed a wonder drug...:\

my doc upped my script to 250mg per day. she said the ideal dose for me is 300 or more. I don't really feel it on a per dose basis any more, but that feeling did last for several weeks. I guess my back does feel better overall now.
