Lamest Nite Club You Have Been Too?

Brizvegas certainly does have it's fair share of terrible clubs. Probably the worst being the big 3 in the city; Mary Street (shudder), Fridays and City Rowers (the place to go to get beaten up by a footy player.
I actually went to Mary St a few weeks ago for the first time in about 5 years because we got in free because my mate knows one of the managers. It was a nightmare, drunken young bogans and surfie dude wannabes and stupid drunk sluts. I wanted to get a baseball bat and go on a rampage and remove these dregs of society. But I just left instead.
Honourable mentions go to the Raging Bull at Capalaba. It used to be managed by a mate from cricket so we'd go there sometimes. Violent, violent bouncers who took joy in beating anyone who looked at them wrong but would let the all in brawls (that happened regularly) go on until somebody was a bloody mess.
And Klyx/Phantoms/? in Gympie. It's Gympie for christ sakes and it's as terrible as you would imagine.
 
Being originally from the country, have visited a few classics
1/ the Loch- Horsham
2/ the Mill- Echuca
then moved to Geelong
3/ Impulse (actually worked there for three weeks)
4/ the Eureka
thank god I finally moved to Melb a couple of years ago, but it still has some shockers
5/ The Exchange Hotel
6/ q bar (only cos they hardly ever let you in unless you have about three stunning females per male)
and the worst of all......................................................................
ALL OF THE CLUBS AT CROWN CASINO!

I think I said this earlier in this thread but I have to say it again. I used to do Mary St on a Thurs night, Fridays on Friday night, City Rowers on Sat night then the Victory Hotel beer garden on Sunday afternoons. At the time (10 years ago now) I loved every single drunken minute of it :D
Mary St used to play Pearl Jam and Nirvana and all sorts of indie stuff on a Thursday night and after filling ourselves with $1 drinks we'd go and create a mosh on the dancefloor! :) I also remember $3 buckets at St Pauls Tavern (which I think has closed now). Back then...before clubs were anything more than just drinking holes...the Valley only had The Beat and lots of hookers. Aaah...memories. :D
And those in Sydney...have you heard that they're closing Berry St and Northpoint Tavern in North Sydney? Apparently they're building apartments where Berry St is. I dunno what they're planning to do with Northpoint but I have a feeling the office tenants in the building above finally won their battle with the 'dodgy pub' downstairs. I for one am going to miss the cheap pool and drinks at Northpoint. Can't say the same about Berry St ;)
And I know the point of this thread is to have a laugh at all the dodgy places around (cause my goodness me there are a shit load of dodgy places!!) I just have to be boring and say there really aren't any lame clubs. Every single club/bar/pub caters for their own little niche of people. The place might not appeal to you but to someone else, it's their favourite place to go out and have fun. And as long as they're having fun, it's not really a lame place. (or maybe I'm just trying to justify my own occasional love of dodgy lame clubs :p ;) )

^ ^ ^ Yeah I heard that too. I'll miss the packed house Thursday nights when 75% of the clientele were under 18 and DJ Dimitri was spinning wicked tunes of the early 90s. Or maybe not...
I avoid Castle Hill Tavern more so because half my high school hangs out there and I like to minimise contact.
Tracks at Epping - ah the memories. That hovel will always have a special place in my heart. My favourite story being the really old lady who didn't have enough money to buy a drink so drank the blue water that people put the bar tips in.
And Berry St *shudder*. Meat market anyone? Although I remember winning a dirty dancing competition (oh the shame ;) )there and management paid for unlimited drinks for me and my friends for the rest of the night. Braving the downwards sloping ramp in heels on the way out was an acheivement and a half...
Any place that has a retro night should be shut down.

I almost forgot, some of my work colleages went to sydney for a weeks training, and we wanted to go to home nightclub to see what it was like.
But the MLC building is across the road from Northpoint, and everyone told us "nah, don't go there, we all go to northpoint after work, then kick on to this brilliant local club the "Berry St Tavern"". As stated above, I was R&Bed out in about two minutes, it was torture, and I haven't been back to Sydney since. Next time we will trust BL'ers, not work mates............
 
Alas St Pauls Tavern is, indeed, no more. Bucket nights have been relegated to history. I think they actually banned them when the new anti binge-drinking liquor laws came in.
When I first came to Brizzie for Uni (way back in 93) we used to go to Fridays every tuesday for $0.50 drinks. Those were the days.
Other dodgy places from back in those days was Transformers (which became Hogies, which became Adrenalin Sports bar) and the Lexington Queen in the mall (which became Club LQ, then something else, and now is Showgirls strip club!)
Aah the memories...... Or at least I should have the memories but damaged my brain so much from consuming so much piss that it's all a blur now.....

I cant belive I used to hang out with some of those dickheads. Geelongians live a very sheltered exsistence I'm afraid unless they travel to Melb every now and then.
Also:- The Mountain View-OMFG
and the Ivy Bar WoofuckingHoo to that place. You go past there and all the people in there have got puppy dogs eyes like they're beggin please Pahhlllleeeezzzzeee get me outta here!!
 
Albiam (sp)? hotel in parramatta .Between the hours of 4 and 5 is " you'll do hour" where people who have not picked up all night will just look at eachother with "you'll do" eyes and hook up at random . scary stuff man
Castle hill tavern "the tav" :) same as queen beat will not go at all ,not up for a school reunion :) did pop my first pill there thou :) *shame*
Club Retro next to chinese laundry ,everyone who gets rejected from any club ends up at this place at some point of the night .You can just tell :)
3 wise monkeys is good if you want to pick up backpackers ...and thats about all it has going for itself :)
NV on oxford st ... Can you still dance with glow sticks at a club ? :)
DCMs on oxford ... what can you say about that place ,I hear nick skitz is resident dj :)
 
Brisbane - Mary Street, Mary Street, Mary Street....followed by City Rowers as a close second. And I was also thinking about adding Club 123 - I'm not sure what it is called now (its across the road from the Victory).
Miss Apple, I used to also go to Mary St on Thursday nights, Fridays on Friday nights and then Rowers on Saturday. Then on Sunday afternoons we went to the Victory and got those cheap jugs of spirits - I think a fire engine was the drink of choice back then...and that wasn't ten years ago. That was only about 3 years ago! I'm positive there is someone out there like us now doing exactly the same thing...ahhhh the memories.

The sutherland shire has, without a doubt, the worst clubs around. There are outback Australian RSL Ball's with more flare than your average shire club
This is so fuckin true i have to walk past coytes every fri-sat night when i go out and it's always full of fuckwit surfies an try hard gangsta's its so fuckin sad.........i think its with out a doubt that hunters an coytes get the shittiest club in the universe award.

Northpoint = Gon (as of tonight)
all we need now is for Blueberries and Metropolis to close and it should be ok... hmmm but then what am i to do on a thursday night??? :)

why has noone mentioned twister?? in melbourne...
i was lied to and told we were goin for a few quiet brewski's in st kilda...
nowhere else (apart from a strip joint) would you have two women grope you within 5-10 mins of arriving...
 
Village Tavern on Sat nights in Adelaide followed closely by Players Bar. Man, just about every club in Adelaide!
