Joint Rolling - European vs. American Methods

here in ireland we roll really long and skinny type cones. that way it lasts longer and we can share it :D
usually we'd stick 2 skinns together or something. or make and L out of kind seize. i know when my old one used to smoke she'd always make king seize Ls, which is kinda excessive :P
 
My friends from Spain freaked out on me when I rolled a joint like I normally do which is lots of herb, twist the ends, and cut one side. These fools where like the Nazis of joint rolling they were pissed I put all the extra paper in there. Their way was to roll the paper inside out and backwards or on the back side or some shit (I was rather high while they were showing me). Anyways they rolled a cone but had the excess paper hanging off like a flap at the end which they just burned off. Then they twisted the end and burned it so they could pull it off then they said we could smoke. A lot of work IMO but you could taste the weed better in their zig zags. I think if you use rice papers a little extra doesn't hurt.

^It's called a backroll. You flip the paper over so that the gum is towards you on the outside, lick it, then roll it so that the wet gum just meets the paper on the other side, and you have no extra paper.
 
^ime, backrolling is the best way to ensure great tasting joints. It also prevents the jay from burning funny up one side. If you back roll it the whole thing will burn perfectly. buy ya i agree it is a bit fiddly and time consuming, but definetely worthwhile. Such a great feeling rolling a perfect splee
 
I prefer to just shorten the paper so I can get the best of both worlds: easy rolling and less paper. You can tell about how big it will be and how much paper to leave for easy rolling before even putting in the paper. I prefer to be able to wrap the paper about 1.5 times around to give extra firmness that doesn't come when the gum barely reaches the other side.
 
Learn something new everyday I do have to say their spliffs did burn perfect every time... Think I'm gonna twist one up now with some Kish (Shiskaberry x Shiskaberry) Mmm!
 
My procedure:
Lay out the kingsize rizla/OCB Crystal paper flat (my two favourites), Roll a nice roach, Set the roach on the left side and fill the paper by making a thin small, thin bed of tobacco, Bust the grass/grind/scissors, Spread it evenly throughout, maybe leave a wee bit of tobacco at the bottom by itself, Pick 'er up and roll a nice big cone, Twist the top, bite/burn off, Smoke.

cannabis smoke is far more tarry than cigarette tobacco. testing this is easy and fun: exhale smoke from both through tissue paper. cannabis leaves a huge shit stain compared to tobacco.

i vaporize mainly c'bis but have done good cigars in my rig. i do like nicotine now and again. takes some tinkering to get the temp adjusted because they both go off at different temps.

Smoking anything is in no way good for your health. (Using it medicinally to help pain, etc. still leads to lung damage, it's a catch 22).

Well, firstly, that's at least partly due to the fact that cigarettes are filtered, and secondly, smoking x amount of cannabis is healthier than smoking x amount of cannabis plus y amount of tobacco regardless of the relative concentrations of nasties.
 
I'm amazed by all these crazy involved ways of rolling things you guys are talking about. Vader, can I post a picture of some rolling methods from a book I have, that allowed?

Is tobacco highly taxed in England or something? I've always wondered why English people didn't smoke blunts like we do stateside.

Blunts are the shit, I like Swisher sweets, I think they're nicely sized and easy to roll. I don't know what a blunt cutter is man, I just use a pocket knife or razor blade, a lot of folks use their thumbnails. Blunts aren't hard to open, I don't think you need a special device for opening them.
 
didnt read all the pages but i live in america and i roll with element tips and French lite papers :)
