My apologies to Nezo and Vurt for making you go through Grave... with no warnings, but you had to see it in its full power. I'm so glad you enjoyed it so much!

Also, if you enjoy a good anime comedy then you have to get your hands on Azumanga Daioh - I watched the first episode last nite and it had me in stitches :D

Just a headsup that DragonballZ s finally nearly back to where it left off, in the mornings at 7am.
For those that don't know, the last time the Buu saga (the final one) was shown, it ended with Vegeta sacrificing himself for the others... but that's only meant to be halfway through the saga.
Now theyve finally started the saga again, and it's at the beginning of the World Martial Arts Tournament, so it should be up to where it was in around two weeks. :)
Bring on Buu!$# :D

Jakoz - you need help ;)
I posted earlier about a new Astroboy series - well here is the news. The new series is to be called Astroboy - Tetsuwan Atom and is being produced in Japan and will begin airing in April. The producers have taken extra care to stay true to the animation spirit of Osamu Tezuka. It seems to be scheduled for a 50 episode run and will delve deeply into the manga which dealt heavily with the pro's and con's of humanity and science.
There is also in production an American version of the above, but the producers have found it hard to find common ground - the American's, like everything, wish to dumb down the story lines in order for it to fit into the whole "animation is just for kids" So, if your intersted in this, try and get the Japanese version :)
Some anime's to look out for, either on Fansub or future DVD release:
Noir
With Hunter Robin
Azunmanga Daoih
Rahxephon
Gundam Seed
Haibane Renmei
Wolf's Rain
Scryed
Chobits
Ai yori Aoshi
Onegai Teacher
Arigato, hastey :)

"japanese anime" is redundant.
wow, a real anime thread. i'll have to check this forum more often :) i'm too lazy to catch up on everything posted already, but...
anything by Gainax ROCKS. evangelion, kare kano (his & her circumstances), and flcl... soooo good.
the Rurouni Kenshin OAV is very good.
Ping Pong Club is the most hilarious thing i've ever watched. be sure to check it out if you ever find it anywhere (i'ma try to get ahold of the vcds again)
there's too much good anime :)

For any yet to see Cowboy Bebop - The Movie on the big screen, the Dendy theatre's in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane are now screeing it. Check out their website for screening times. www.dendy.com.au

weeee...I'm going to watch it tonight...I missed it during the japanime festival..
anyone else intersted in coming tonight? Vurt? 7:10 session!

Depends what you're into really - anime genre's a diverse.

more manga than anime related (at this stage anyway ;) ), ghost in the shell 2 is finally released through american publisher dark horse.
issues 1 and 2 can be picked up.
amazing illustrations, worth having a look just for the eyecandy. the quality of the publication makes it feel like im holding anime cells/stills in my hands :D

*starts drooling*
GiTS 2 (anime) is currently in production, what stage its in I don't remember.

You guys seriously have too much time on your hands!
I find I enjoy anime in moderation. Currently going through an anime-free period due to oversaturation by a friend - the entire Lain series in 1 day!
I have seen...
Akira (but of course)
Evangelion (whole series + really bad pirate of the movie)
Bubblegum crisis
Lain
Some Kenshin, not a lot, and even less Samuri X
Monster City (bad, bad, bad, bad, bad)
Assorted bits and peices that didn't make enough of an impression to be able to remember them.
And I'm a girl too ;)
