Injection; IV Complications and Information MEGATHREAD and FAQ II - show me the blood

Know this is probably the dumbest question ever but I don't have to worry about blood inside my arm where I shot right? There is no lump or bump, no pain or swelling, just blood that I can't wipe off.

so is this the noob who was making pun at me for banging 75mgs a day. Looky, here he is in another thread inquiring on injecting. I think many will agree when i say, leave it alone kid and leave the i.v use tto the rest of us who do know what we are doing.

Im not trying to be nasty by saying what i said, but i just dont wanna see you in the shrine..

You need to not be asking questions here, and need to get someone who is experienced to show you how. I completely endorse this site and the whole harm reeduction thing, but i dont agree with, is learning how to i.v for the first time, on a website, or pamplet.....You need someome to show you how in person.

And no you will not bleedout inside your arm. The only way you would is if you were a noob, and hit an artery........Yes, you will bleed a little, and will bleed a miniscule amount on the inside, thats where the bruises the other poster mentioned come from. However. if you use proper technique, and a fresh new needle everytime like i do, then you shouldnt.

Stop being so damn sensitive. I wasn't attacking you; I don't care how much you IV/day. The question seemed valid, so I pointed it out because you seem to have missed that detail. If i was wrong, i was wrong.

Now, about your other, more relevant part of the post. I do agree it cannot be done with words alone, which is why I've looked a various youtube videos (the good that did me!) as none of my friends IV. It's just a personal curiosity of mine. :D

ON an unrelated note. I think I railed like 4mg of dilaudid at about 9:00pm yesterday night, after drinking the liquid I botched my shots with, and I'm just now waking up from the stupor. Fuck that was great. No pull either.

EDIT: There's a great harm reduction text on the first page that I didn't look at before. Every must-shoot junkie-to-be should read it.
So my input doesn't really add much, sorry.

Well, everyone knows which vein I'm writing about when I write that it's the very first vein people aim at when they want to shoot (the one nurses take blood from the most often). It's vena mediana cubiti in Latin, so it would be something like median cubital vein, I guess. It seems to be an ideal vein for injection. CAUTION! There's a big artery over there, brachial artery near and median nerve. I've seen first-timers hitting brachial artery and mistaking it for median cubital vein because it's easy to see pressure in brachial artery (well, this one is also used for measuring blood pressure, no wonder) and if they use, say, a belt to purse then they hit the artery and even though the light blood gets into a syringe itself because of the pressure, they often push the plunger anyway. And this can cause even life-threatening condition. Arteries are deeper than veins but this one is big and very close to median cubital vein so I've seen many mistaken shots even though arteries are innervated and it hurts when one hits the artery. One doesn't have to inject to feel the pain, injecting is painful like hell.

How veins and arteries are located is a personal thing on the other hand but everyone has the same veins and arteries. The artery I'm writing about may be closer to median cubital vein or further. Well, one gets to know his or her body with time, I know my brachial artery is very close to median cubital vein on my left hand so I always watched out. Well, to be honest interest in anatomy helps here a lot.

If we're here to help, if it's harm reduction forum, then the best answer is (unfortunately only one because one thing I noticed that your best argument against shooting never stops a person who wants to do it and even if he/she considers leaving it at least for a second, he/she is going to do it anyway; I shot a lot of drugs, I had this opportunity to synthesize probably a lot over 200 active compounds, most of them being opioids, this is for research, I believe some mixed delta agonista/kappa antagonist might come out as an efficient antidepressant but as a junkie I didn't use the lab only for work and I shot ~100 of them, just opioids, you grab sophisticated books on synthetic stuff and voila, you know what you want but that's not the point... I'm not saying I did all of them all the time, most were synthesized once just to know how they work and I had my favorites, on these I was losing my life and even people who I had watch the lab and different drugs didn't see the point and I ran into some chemical mania because we did even small changes in structure, many drugs didn't differ in action, this is crazy what it does to mind, I even thought I could find better substitute than existing):

If you decide to shoot any substance (knowing from many stories and reports that this is the straightest way to get addicted to the substance you're wanting to shoot), you must remember that it must be done under very little angle (10 degrees would be perfect but 30 is enough) using a thin needle (25-30 gauge, 0,5-0,3mm, the best would be something around 27 gauge and 0,4mm). Once you hit the blood vessel, make sure it's a vein. Pull back the plunger slowly, if blood is dark red and it comes 'idly', this is a vein, when blood itself gets inside the syringe and it's light red, pull back the needle and apply fast pressure to where you hit and hold strongly for not less than 15 minutes, this was an artery.

If you're not experienced, if you've never injected anything intravenously, it's the best to have someone around to do it for you the first time and help you out (don't fool yourself you'll do only once and don't be mad at anyone if he/she doesn't want to inject you a drug, I wouldn't myself do it, instead I would take the drugs you have away and tell you my story - there are thousands of such stories).

To be honest, I don't believe there's some power to stop anyone who's willing to shoot a drug. Nothing. I managed to get just a few people out of this shit with methadone but they just had to see themselves how 'beautiful' it really is.

I wasn't being sensitive, you misunderstood me. I just like to poke....hehehehe

As to the "more relevant part", I just don't like to see another person star digging their arms up. I could tell my story, but it would take pages and pages or typing. I can tell you this.

-I have been to detox 11 times.
-I have spent 3 months of my life hospitalized from drugs.
-I have almost died 3 times, pretty much as dead once, hit E.R with BP of 78/49, RR of 16, and emp of 105 F from being septic.
-I have attended and completed 5 90 day programs. Costing over $170,000.00 in just stay fee's.
-I have undergone 1 year of MMT(methadone).
-I have undergone a rapid detox, was anesthetized for 4 days and given Naltroxin. (Very expensive)
-I have tried 12 Step, Holistic, Scientology/Biophysical, Cognitive, Post rehabilitation care,
-I can't wait for buprenorphine to come to my province, am wishing someday they would be like the UK, and experiment with injectable diamorphine treatment.

My doctor has come to he understanding that I have a serious addiction, all efforts have been tried and failed, I do have legitimate pain issues, he doesn't know I inject, so he just prescribes it to me so I will not destroy my life, and can live it somewhat normal. Though he forces me to try every new treatment possible.

I started being prescribed hydromorphone at age 17. I am now 24 next week. So I have some very serious time in for someone my age. Are you prescribed alot of dilaudid? What is your silment? I like the other 95% of people I know, and you, said I would never use needles.(Somebody back me up here)

Its is a line that you can cross so easy, and yet it takes so much to cross back.

I will give a couple tips.

Don't learn to inject by a post, or a youtue video, learn from someone, get them to show you.
Whatever your oral dose is, cut the dose in half for your first i.v.
Always go buy your needles yourself from the drugstore.
Stay safe and be wiery, this really is disaster waiting to happen.

Jesus man...that's some hard life u been living. 0_o

I don't know what it is...maybe I'm just being hard headed or maybe I like the challenge of trying to control something so hard to control. It's just making me want to inject quicker. :\

I'm trying not to sound stupid about this (I know I am, lol), I'm aware as best as I can be about the risks of injecting. But for some reason I'm just compelled to do it. Dilaudid don't come my way often anyway, so no angry fit is going to make them magically appear in my hand lol. Maybe that's why i'm not too worried about it. Once these babies are gone, well, they're gone. No more for me unless another miracle were to happen. Appreciate the concern though. :D

All this blunt needle stuff, makes me pissed when pharmacies refuse to sell a bag of B and D's....ridiculous, do they really think people are not going to shoot their drugs because they said no?

Update: My foot is still sore, but it isn't throbbing to the point where i want to cut it off. It just hurts if i walk on it the wrong way. Still no noticeable bruising or bumps.

Foot is generally a bad way to go. Too much bacteria and you never can get it too clean unless you are dealing with it like a surgeon.

Vein Pain Help

I slam morphine pills every day and about a four days ago my vein started hurting (and still does). Also my vein is rock hard for about 4-6 inches up my arm even where I dont inject.I have allready looked around for info about collapsed veins but the info i read said nothing about pain.I am wondering if maybee i have some sort of clot or something because of the pain and the hardness of my vein. Also when i cough or something sometimes it sends a shooting pain up my arm.Im guessing the pain when i cough has something to do with boold pressure.Anyways I was just wondering if anyone has had this experiance before.Should i go to the hospitol?P.S. Sorry if this has allready been discussed.I used the search to look here but found nothing excatly like mine. Also i apologize ahead of time if im in the wrong section. Also I know for a fact that this is not due to missing ive been doing this for years and have done that many times, This is different.

The pain is not a good sign. This may be a complication of shooting pills without micron filtering.

This reminds me of compartment syndrome, which is really bad. I would consider getting medical help, even though this is something I know you don't want to hear.

I would stop IVing pills immediately; and get medical attention. I wish you the best of luck.

im by no means educated in this sort of thing but I would say a) if the swelling is severe and b) if the aforementioned area is surrounding the injection site that you should visit the ER immediately. doesnt sound too good bro =(

you probably shot up some coke that was cut with some real bad agents for shooting up, in addition to this maybe u missed alot of times, maybe u hit an arterry that brought the stuff down into ur hand and away from ur heart which isnt good either... either way man u have to go to the hospital if things dont get better soon... legally they cannot do anything to you or report anything, its medical emergency not the cops.

shootin up coke has never been fun for me, after the inition bell ringer (which in itself scares the shit out of me cuz i feel like im going to die), its complete hell with depression, paranoia, and all around feeling of wanting to just die. I need to shoot up opiates immediately after just to feel like life is worth living.... coke sucks.

Will i get in trouble? I wont have anything on me i just cant get in trouble... Like will police be notified?

Depends where you live, where i live (uk) i dont think they inform the police especially if you take yourself in instead of having to have a friend to call an ambulance because your unconscious.
Better safe than sorry, i know little about injection problems but from what ive heard when in doubt always go down to a&e, or oyu could lose a hand or a life
