Injection; IV Complications and Information MEGATHREAD and FAQ II - show me the blood

it helps a bit since idk I have been injecting for a few years now and I only had one good vein. and now well.. its completely collapsed and all the other veins that I have seem to to that. I can only really get veins on my hands and ankle, none really are on my arms. I know it sounds hard to believe. I am not extremely thin but I am thin enough that everyone else that I know of my weight and height hits stuff way easier than me. I guess I wasn't built for such poor choices. Even when I go to the hospital I freak out when I need an IV because they ALWAYS have to bring in the "specialist" and they end up using a vein very very deep in my forearm. soooo basically I guess I have a lot of veins that pull such a sneaky move!

I am sorry to hear that. Have you tried lifting weights? Do tourniquets help you out?
 
hmm I guess I could lift weights, I have tried tourniquets, they don't help much! I guess I should try lifting weights! I mean it can't hurt right?

I hope so cuz im doing the same thing right now lol, i missed about 20units of micron filtered/sterile water/benzyl alcohol/suboxone.. probly a total of .2mg total so not a big deal. But i never miss so I'm kinda nervous. I think if I remember right that use heat for the first day and after that if you need to continue doing something to it than use ice after the first day (or is it two days? I donno lol).. Hope we'll both be alright and not lose a limb :\ .

EDIT: Or maybe i have it backwards?? Shit. I donno.

Haha yeah I rarely miss so when I do, I get super paranoid! Plus, it hurts and I'm a sooky girl, lol.. I drew back, got blood, went to push but must have slipped out cos it hurt, so I stopped, re-checked, was all good and down the plunger went haha but now I have a small raised lump! :(

So I'm experimenting with Dilaudid right now, and I was just like fuck it imma rail this shit

FUCKING NOTHING. I can't even get blood in the syringe. Now all I have now are red arms. Someone tell me how the fuck do you guys manage to iv anything. Maybe I'm not putting the syringe in far enough I dunno.


So anyway I just decided to snort that bitch. Feelin kinda good. B)

Goddamnit I'm pissed I wasn't able to bang that junk. I'm gonna get it right though. How far is it necessary to put the syringe in? Is there any way to know when to stop digging?

Some people pull back to create a vacuum right when the needle touches the skin... When you get in the vein, the vacuum will allow blood to flow in, indicating that you have registered and are in a vein.

Nice idea, might try it tomorrow or something. How far in do you guys usually go? I have a 1/2 inch 31 guage 1cc syringe I'm using

I'm assuming you don't have to put the whole needle in right?

And how is it I'm supposed to create a vaccum with one hand while injecting at the same time? Noob, sorry...

instead of jumping straight into IV use, why don't you try the rectal administration first? see how that goes for you.

Ha, no i don't. I snorted, might do rectal later. I just wanna feel that rush one time. I don't have access to them that much. And I have 3 abbots and a 1/4 of a 4th one so 26 mg left.

I pull back as soon as i puncture the skin, then i go for the vein. when i register, blood will fill the vacuum and then i inject the drug directly into the vein.

however, i would also suggest a different route cuz there is no such thing as "one time" with the needle.
 
my advice is don't go rushing into it, just really think about the pro's and cons. it's a serious step going onto IV use - one a lot of us can't escape, nothing else comes near it.

you'll get somewhat of a rush through rectal administration - a more rapis onset - though it's obviously not an IV hit, but the next best thing and i lot safer in most all respects. you don't have to worry about missing your shot, abscesses, bruises, etc etc. just make sure you've emptied out before administering it;) you don't need fuck all water either. there are plenty of plugging guides to find throughout BL as well:)
