Urgent

I just hit a shot and my hand went completely numb. I have put warm water on it and raised it above my head, and I have slightly regained feeling. I am worried this was a blot clot and if I have slightly regained feeling does this mean it will go away or need to seek a doctor.

feeling slightly better so I'm not rushing to the hospital unless told otherwise. Did I hit a nerve, or did I really get a blood clot and moved it by flexing warm water and elevation? When I hit the shot my arm literally went completely numb, I could not move my fingers at all. I am going to stop, and if I relapse I am still staying very far away from that arm. Please respond if you know what this could have been and what damage it could have done. I am also going a little crazy, I feel like I can hear my roomates upstairs commenting on everything I do, and that they have a little camera in my room. I don't know if extremely read auditory delusions could be a sideeffect of a blood clot, and if not then what I'm hearing is too clear for me to be wrong. Schitzophrenia is the only alternative. My hand is still very low in feeling, about 60% usual (feels like I am constantly banging my funny bone), and need someone to respond quick so I can do what I need to do or stop freaking out. I dont want to sleep on it and wake up with an arm that needs to be amputated, but in my opinion it was a clot and I did release the major blockage

Do you think you may have hit an artery? If so get to the ER now. If you hit an attery there is a very good chance you will loose your hand or some of your fingers.

If it really is just a miss... I'm really not sure of the severity since I've never missed.

Still, going to a doctor is the best advice I can give you.

If it's an artery hit though don't go to the doctor... go to the ER NOW!

Did the shot burn going in? Notice light frothy blood instead of normal dark blood? Those are signs of an artery hit.

I hate these urgent threads and I hate it when they just stop responding... well I guess that's a good thing if it means they got off the computer and sought real medical help.

i assume the hallucinations could have occured during his next very stressful period. he panicked about the numbness, and that set off an episode (for which he should go to the doc either way, with or without numbness..)

^i agree.

from the symptoms you described i'm not really sure - and can never be. the numbness would indicate hitting a nerve, but you would usually feel a distinctly acute striking pain. did you experience that initially?

keep an extremely close eye on it and if it starts to worsen then seek medical attention asap.

i'll merge this into the IV complications thread where there's a lot of information on hitting nerves, so have a read through that in the mean time while i do some reading as well to give you some more info. i can't think off the top of my head now.

lol this place is driving me crazy. I don't know how you mods do it. -out

it can be stressful, that's for sure. we're not trained professionals and people who find themselves in these situations shouldn't be jumping to an online forum asking for advice. they should have at least done the research beforehand so they are somewhat prepared and know some treatments to prevent symptoms if they do happen to fuck up. and if it's really bad well then they shouldn't be wasting their time on here and should be contacting emergency services.

the best we can offer is a few preventative techniques, no healing solutions and we always suggest seeing a doctor.

oh i see i was 2 hours late. hopefully they've gone to get some medical attention or at least done some research of their own. they can read through this thread now anyway.

i really dislike these urgent titled threads when they disappear and never let us know what they eventually decided to do. hopefully we hear back:\

Yeah so I slept it out and my arm appears fine. Don't know what it was, but i regained feeling Heres your update. The reason I didnt respond is because I got no advice for two hours. If you really hate urgent harm reduction advice I suggest browsing websites that do not focus on harm reduction in that exact area. Your not helping anyone by complaining about people asking about harm reduction on a harm reduction website.

I have a couple questions for you guys.

First is every time I shoot dope I get the intense uncomfortable itchy feeling all over my body (especially in my face) that some other members were reporting. Mine is accompanied by a severe short term rash that is inflamed and bubbled in bunches all over my body. Could it be an allergic reaction? It's worse when I do more or when I mix the tar with coke. What do you recommend I do? This hasn't always happened to me but the last month or so it's happened every time.

Also is it normal that the couple times I'v been stupid and shot too much tar sometimes mixed with coke that I have blacked out for a bit and came out of it realizing that I had been talking to myself and thinking there were other people in the room with me? Very real auditory and visual hallucinations. It's pretty scary to have happen so I'v really been trying to be careful to make sure it doesn't happen again.

yeah, that's happend to me a lot, and it happens to a lot of other people to. I've come to many times having conversations with myself. For some reason it doesn't happen to me anymore though. Also, you might want to try to get your H from a different source. The allergic reaction could be to the cut. However it is normal to get really itchy, I actually enjoy that.

I missed a shot of meth today. I've been on methadone for a couple months and I think the last time I IV'd was in January. I hit the vein, registered twice, depressed the plunger, and halfway through I saw a tiny bubble form. I didn't get a rush. It was red; I applied pressure with warm water and redness seems to have reduced but it looks fairly swollen. It sorta seems like I may have went through the vein because of the wide swollen base, but I don't think I went that far.

I've shot ice before and have read up on it, but it's been awhile. Is there anything I should worry about in comparison to shooting opiates?

this has happened to me

try to sleep on your back

you're putting pressure on a nerve or artery (which then chokes off a nerve or muscle) as you sleep. really soft blankets/bed should help

hey, does anyone shoot into that vein on the inside of the ankle? I did a shot there today. It was real easy to hit, but it kind of hurt. I made sure to register a million times, and I injected very slowly. Is this a very fragile vein? I'm not worried that i popped it or anything, I'm just wondering if it's one I can use every once in a while, because I'm trying to let my arms heal up a bit.

it's generally better to avoid injecting in the feet region for a couple reasons. there's not much room for error as the feet doesn't have much of an area for missed shots to absorb safely there's very little area for the shot to absorb sucessfully with out causing much pain and consequences -also low blood flow. there's very little blood flow in the region with makes it even harder to the drug to circulate successfully without causing much of a pain/complication - which generally end up being a nice bruised and swollen are which can take a turn for the worst.

avoid shooting up in these are. it's best to inject in the upper body region where there's a stronger blood flow and more safer places for such practice.

stay safe every <3 . please don't hesitate to contact myself for more in depth discussion:)

Listen to this man. When I first started shooting I didn't know exactly what I was doing and I missed a shot in my ankle, being mad that I wasted a big shot I immediately did another one in my hand, which I missed. Both of them hurt pretty bad especially the one in my foot. Two days later both areas were bright red and unbelievably swelled. After an ER visit, some antibiotics and some time off from drugs the swelling finally subsided. I still have some discoloration and lumps as a reminder.

Okay, after doing 3 successful shots in a row, i begin to draw some parallels between missing and getting the vein

It's probably common sense to most of you as well as it probably should have been for me, but when I'm all the way in the vein I notice that the plunger offers much less resistance as opposed to if I'm not all the way in the vein. It's very noticable too, almost like you barely have to tap the plunger before it starts sinking in the barrel. True or false?

Most likely it's not an allergic reaction, it's a histamine reaction from the H degrading to morphine, or in tar from morphine still being in the final product from shitty processing,. This is normal and can be countered with taking an antihistamine like Benadryl before using...

I stupidly IM a xanax pill. What to do now? Please help

I know I already aked about it in another thread, but due the nature of the problem, I opened this specific thread, expecting faster answers.

Last night I was very (VERY) drunk I came to my mind to IM a xanax pill. I searched BL but I completely misunderstood the warnings (once again I was very drunk).

When I woke up, I was feeling pain in the the area I injected (butt). Not an endless pain, only when I press the area, like if I hit it on something. I also noticed that there's no hematoma or swollen. Skin is completely nornal.

However Im really worried that things could go worst. I heard about abcess and I'm VERY SCARED right now. Shoud I go to the hospital or something? Theres anything that I can do? Massaging the area, antibiotics, anything?

Please, I really need your help in this. I know I did a stuped things. But im trying to fix it as soon as possible, before it gets any worst.

thanks!!!
