We could argue "needs" all day long, but I would steadfastly maintain that Indiana DESERVES to be represented at something claiming to be a MIDWEST festival, if not for our history with "raves", then for the world reknown talent bringing attention to the Nap AND the Midwest. Things may be suffering on an event level here in Indiana, but the creative output of electronic music producers here is NOT.
Lol, we
could argue "needs" all day long, but Brandon would obviously dominate such an effort.
Your accuracy comes as no surprise, Indiana certainly does "Deserve", because Indiana has supported EDM culture... not only in Indiana.... but abroad. Indiana's EDM advocates have never been afraid to travel (despite the rising cost of travel), attending events crafted by local, regional, national, and international promotion and tour groups.
Artist aside (without marginalization), I'm talking about dancing feet, party peeps, and good vibes alone. Warm fuzzy moments created by candy bracelets, hugs, smiles, head bobs, toe taps, laughs, smiles, love, care, and time.
The dancing feet of those who guide, help and protect… dancing feet that summons a posse and scale the earth for hours.... seeking to build a sacred moment.
As a DJ, Promoter, or Producer.... I compose but the smallest fraction of the whole . In this light.... I am nothing..... in comparison to the whole... but a resounding echo in the ether.
50,000 dancing feet... 500 or so booked artist and promoters at pni3( a ratio of 20:1).
So when I think about what INDIANA "DESERVES"... and "WHY"....
I have to hand it to "Dancing Feet"…
And I cant find any reason why I wouldn’t want to hand it to dancing feet.
When I'm behind the decks ... I cant come to any conclusion that it has anything what so ever to do with what the "artists deserves".... when before my two eyes... are one thousand ears.... still a dance floor of 501.
Much to the contrary... the "Artist" could be thought to hold a responsibility to the audience....
Making it 20 times MORE about what the audience "DESERVES" than what the artist "DESERVES".( it all falls apart if you count the artist "out" altogether)
Cause as an artist.... I'm just doing "my part"... a part which is no more or less "Deserving" than any other part that one could chose to manifest... or any other artist who may manifest it.
As far as history....
Yesterday don’t owe a man shit, it doesn’t even owe a man "Today", and certainly not "Tomorrow".
These things one owes one's self. Those seeking compensation elsewhere.... are "seekers" and not "finders"... and seek they do "Lost" in the unfound.
But with “Respect” to history… it’s guidance holds the potential to transform “Seekers” to “Finders”.
Residing in Indiana, (Bloomington)...
I'm so excited to see Just 3 White Guys of Indianapolis representing Indiana in tandem with the northern Indiana progress.
For the midwest to experience Just 3 White Guys is a big deal... the shit is fresh ,dope, and consistent every MF time see. They really are something to see, hear, enjoy, and even hold a sincere discussion with.
Down to earth…. Yet out of this world.
I mean, 2 of them rip and juggle spine tingling breaks, and then dude sprinkles mad cuts and chops over it.
You might think it would be a clusterfuck..
But BEHOLD... Just 3 White Guys execute each performance with acute precision and tenacious skill.
It’s a fine example of that INDIANA CHRONIC see.
The best weapon... is one you fire but once... and this is much that sort of case.
And gosh...
Northern Indiana has been running circles around Central Indiana in the production scope over the past year (or more) and I'm absolutely THRILLED that they have secured a stage, much "respect"(for lack of a better "R" word).
I guess what I'm saying is... in response to the current outcome....
Disappointed? Yes, to some degree.
Excited? Hell Yeah!
Offended? LOL, Certainly not.
