If I didn't trip then, will I trip now?

Blue caps/ Gold Caps - I;m new to shrooms...

Basically I tripped a few times in my life but I was younger like 16 years old... Now I am looking to get some mushrooms again and every one keeps telling me they have Blue Caps. I asked a few friends who are more into stuff like this ( I was heavy into opiates and harder stuff for a while) and he said something along the lines of "Fuck blue caps suck you gotta get gold caps". I really think theese are just a bunch of naive stoners putting names on certian types of shrooms and that even those "Blue" caps will produce a strip just as strong as the ones I had on "gold" caps back when I was younger... Any help will be appreciated if this needs moved my bad...

Merged in a question about mushroom cap colors.

Basically, it sounds like a case of some dumb stoners making up stories about what kinds of mushrooms are best. However, there are many different strains of mushrooms and they all have some different properties. So there may be a grain of truth in it.

Can anyone verify the rumor that soaking mushrooms in lemon juice for a while before consumption increases the potency and makes the effects kick in quicker?

I might soon finally try combining the stimulating MAOI smart drug, Deprenyl, with mushrooms. I've been curious for quite a while now as to how a high dose of Deprenyl would synergize with mushrooms, seeing as Deprenyl becomes an MAO-a at doses above 10 mg and MAO-a's potentiate Psilocybe.

I assume I'll get lectured on how foolish I am to want to try this combination without knowing whether it's safe...

Is there NO ONE on Bluelight who has combined Deprenyl or Moclobemide with mushrooms??

Oh, and if anyone tells me "why do you want to use substances to potentiate mushrooms rather than just taking a higher dose?" my answer is that not all of us have access to large enough quantities of psychedelics to take a higher dose. Often I'm stuck with only having access to a measly 2 or 3 grams of mushrooms.

Mushies Go Black in bag? still safe?

I got 80 bucks of mushies the yesterday. they were in a plastic bag. half of them are still there, but now they have turned black. are they still safe to use if i transfer them into a paper bag when i get home

Merged in a question about black mushrooms.

Were the mushrooms dried or wet? If they were wet and you stored them in a plastic bag, they probably went bad.

Mushrooms: Am I Missing Something?

I have a moderate deal of experience with LSD and ketamine anddd...

Well I ate psilocybin mushrooms for the first time the other day (about 3 grams) and for all the hype... I dunno. I just got a bad headache and everything got a little brighter and I had mass amounts of energy that I had no way of putting to use so i just got overstimulated and edgy.

I thought mushies caused ego loss and were more visual and would have some use as a tool for introspect. Am I missing something? Perhaps I got bunk material? Or maybe I was just expecting something more like acid?

I'm gonna give it another go tomorrow with four grams and see if things are different. If not I'm just gonna stick with the blotter but... any tips or suggestions for a more defined and profound mushroom trip?

3 grams of decent quality mushrooms would cause the average person to trip. Most people find them fairly similar to acid, although more 'moody' and unpredictable. Also, they don't last as long, and rather than being able to 'control' the intensity of the trip to an extent as with acid, the mushroom trip seems to come and go in waves of its own accord. Many people feel that they are more spiritual/nature-focused/subjective, where as acid is more scientific/objective in feel, but the overall experience is fairly similar - ego loss at high doses, distortions and visuals, profound (seeming?) thought processes, etc.

If you didn't experience anything remotely like an acid trip, one of two things is probably true: either they don't work (or just don't work well) for your body, or the shrooms you got were weak. Personally, I had great luck with mushrooms for 10 or so trips, and now they give me nothing but nausea.

Are the other 4 grams from the same batch? If so, I suggest holding off until you can talk to someone else who's eaten some from that batch. If another shroomer tripped off the same batch, it's more likely something unique to your body; if others have had the same problem, it's likely you got ripped off on some bad shrooms.

Even when mushrooms worked for me, I always preferred acid. Mushrooms don't last as long, can have a body load and are more unpredictable. Still, I had some profound and very valuable mushroom trips back in the day. Good luck.

They're from the same batch.
Two of my friends went on and on about how they were "tripping balls" so it's hard to say really whether or not they were or just didn't know what to look for.

The trip was comparable to a really really REALLY low dose acid trip so I'm thinking I'll take your advice and hold off. One of my more intelligent friends will be partaking in the same batch soon and I'll see what he says.
Heh, thanks.

I just took 3 grams of homegrown shrooms. They are a bit over 6 months old, but were dried and placed in capsules. It seems that they have lost a LOT pf potency. The trip felt like a .5 trip....

Would it be a stupid idea to take like 9 grams and see what happens?

Each individual mushroom will have a different potency... 3 grams of mushrooms from a batch might be strong, while 3 other grams from the same batch might be weak. Also, everyone has different natural tolerance levels for psychedelics (and all drugs).

It sounds like you had a low-dose, sub-psychedelic trip... htye tend to be uncomfortable, especially if you're not used to it. I wouldn't write off mushrooms. I find them tremendously different than LSD and most other psychedelics... they're much more intense and "wild"/out of control than others, but they also produce the most immersive and spiritual experiences for me.

Mushrooms are if anything very unpredictable IME - especially at higher dose :)

Shrooms

I dont know much about Acid, shrooms or any Psychedelic Drugs...
Never though they would do any good for my mental health, but could 1 trip on shrooms do some permanent damage? Could it make life look better, more positive as some say?

Psychedelics allowed me to recover from my lifelong and severe depression. Psychedelics have done me absolutely nothing but good. Psychedelics aren't neurotoxic, so there's no physical damage. There's no such thing as a bad trip (short of outright psychosis), only learning experiences. Sure, a trip can be less than fun, but those are often the trips you learn the most from.

well, psilocybin mushrooms may not pose much danger, but there are many species of look alike mushrooms which are poisonous. Remember kiddies, when picking wild mushrooms always be sure to bring alond your neighborhood mycologist ;)
Also, bad trips are a very real possiblity.

It could do either. If you don't have a history of psychiatric problems, that may mean that you are less likely to suffer adverse long-term consequences from a bad trip.

A trip is only bad if you decide it is ;)

I recently combined 1.5g cubensis with about 120mg of MDMA after the peak and WOW. One of my most profound psychedelic experiences. I spent the day having intimate conversations with 2 best friends by a river near rolling hills and meadows at sunset. Great combo!

I can't fucking stand the way they taste. Anyone have any suggestions... they fucking make me gag.

Grind them in a coffee grinder....take some spare Tylenol caps, empty them, pack them with the powder....9 gelcaps = 2.9g of dried mushie. No taste, at all. :)
