the mushrooms will highlight any 'energy kinks' within your subconscious, some of which you may have been unaware of beforehand.
by nature though, the mushrooms only want to help you. if your experience became uncomfortably introspective, there was reasoning for it no doubt. you may have successfully resolved the issue/issues through the experience, or it may still take you a while, but either way it is a good thing to have uncovered this 'kink' or 'flaw' within your subconscious.
many of my mushrooms experiences wind up similarly, very introspective to the point of being a bit hard on myself through analysis. i'm a huge supporter of the idea that there is no good or bad trips, simply trips. i've had trips where i was shivering and uncomfortable and sitting under the covers 'waiting it out' in an introspective hell hole. and some of these trips have been the most rewarding for me. as i stated above, anything negative that comes up (be it in sober life or on trips) there is a reason for it to do so. some of the topics or 'points of notice' which came up during hell-hole introspection formed cornerstones for my personal and spiritual development. not to mention, the sheer 'surviving' or enduring of such an experience leaves one very humbled, which of itself can be very profound and rewarding.
the more respectfully you approach the mushrooms, the more they will help you along. even if you are not respectful, they will still help you, but learning to make the ceremony of mushrooms intake a mutual one (ie not just 'your mushrooms ceremony' but 'a ceremony for you and the mushroom') will surely increase the ease with which you can integrate the information given to you.
*key* from all my experiences (numbering quite a few) with mushrooms, one point i've noted thuroughly is that...Mushrooms Plant Seeds. these seeds may grow during the experience, maybe the day after, maybe a year after. the uncomfortable aspects of their experience can be compared to the tilling of the soil. we humans tend to concretize our preconceptions upon maturing, the more concretized your ideas and beliefs are, the more 'tilling' or 'composting' of your 'inner material' needs to be done before the 'soil of your self' is fitting for nurturing growth.
from the demeanor of your post, you dont seem to be overly put off by the experience, although obviously curious about the reasonings for your experience. if you plan to reapproach, just center yourself, and attempt to look at the situation 'from square one'. if you are meant to learn more from the mushrooms, they will lead you back to them. the most you can do is develop yourself to be able to approach respectfully, as well as center yourself to be able to non-biasedly assess the situation of partaking.
sorry fo the lengthiness
best of luck on your progressions
