I've had such an awesome day in Brissy today. The Picasso was totally excellent. Really inspiring, I am going to buy a primed canvas tomorrow and have a lash.

My favorite was this one by Andre Derain. Its from a series of little paintings he did called Baigneuses (Bathers)

Also spent ages in the Sidney Nolan exhibition. It was great, his early works especially. I have always liked all the Ned Kelly paintings he did, but I was really struck by "The Slip" so fantastic.

Plus bought some awesome cd's I have been wanting for ages in Rocking Horse. Bloody tired now though :)

Our kitten is learning the hard way when it comes to NOT trying to eat my expensive fishies. He jumps at the tank and then smashes back into the ground hen he rebounds off. Fun to watch =D

He will learn soon enough.

My other smile was for the gorgeous day today :D
 
nearing a month off weed after 15 yearz:D
can still enjoy tokin with turkish hooka and many flavoured tobaccos....im havin a smile, cruizin B/L and puffin some tooty furkin fruity,off to tobaconist tomorrow to c if they got my "cappichino" backy:D

^Wow dude, that's freaking awesome. I think you'd be stellar with kids, and we all know male role-models are very much needed in childcare centres, playgroups, kindergarden and throughout the entire Australian education system. Best of luck with it, I think you'd be a perfect fit. :)

^Just make sure you treat your hair really well and don't over-style using heat, it can make hair really dry and brittle if you're not careful. :)

Smile: i realised last nite that my eyes are slowly but surley being opened as to the state of the world and im facing reality even though it aint always pleasnt... very glad to join the maybe 20% of the population that isnt just completly fucking stupid sheep listining to what they are told and accepting it/ rolling over like a dog on command.. still being completley fucked every day of my life.....but we can work on that:)
 
After 2 months or so of thinking and back and forward phone calls to my head TAFE teacher I am finally ready to start my TAFE Research Assignment and thus get my Diploma (meaning I qualify for UNI next year). My Research proposal is done and accepted and I actually have for the first time a clear picture of how I'm going to do it.

It's now only 2 years overdue :)

I'm doing a macroinvertebrate diversity study on an urban creek I work on as a way of assessing how fucked it is. And just for something to collate the data with I'll be doing two basic streamwatch tests for phosphates and dissolved oxygen.
 
Well depending of course on whether I get in which shouldn't be a problem according to the guy I talked to on the phone, I should get exemptions even, a Bachelor of Science in Biodiversity and Conservation.

I'll be doing it correspondence though so I can still work full time and be a productive member of society (ie. be able to afford to drink).
 
Ahhh yeah.. see this is the dilemma i face.. I'm studying full time so I have no money to do shit. I still can't believe they dont have mature age entry in Australia.. (they don't in Victoria anyway) Sucks you have to go through the whole TAFE thing when you are probably intelligent enough to deal with 1st year BSc material - it's not that difficult. For your bread and butter courses like BA or BSc they should allow entry for mature applicants regardless of TAFE qualifications.
 
I didn't want to go to UNI (a silly ideology against payed education) when I was younger and therefore didn't do a fucking things towards year 11 and 12. TAFE was my choice after a year out of school realising I'd kill myself if I didn't get out of Hospitality.

There is actually a mature age scheme for UNI in NSW but you have to spend the first year on campus which doesn't suit me and work.
