How young is too young?

I am an older women and I prefer younger men. I hate the term "Cougar" but I just seem to relate better to younger men. My tastes in music, political views, books, movies are all appreciated by men younger than me.

It must be that way for some men too. I cant judge a guy just because he finds a younger women attractive if it is because they share the same interests. I know how that feels. I have trouble attracting men in my age group who like the same things as me.

I have morals and no where to draw the line. I hope the men out there do to.
 
I'm glad I posted this question because the responses have illuminated quite a bit. Judging from the overwhelming amount of negative replys I realize that even though the girl may be willing as would I, a relationship like this is simply something society will not allow. Even though I only want someone I can chat and spend time with (read: not sex) it seems that 90% of people assume the worst. A percentage that I assume would also apply to the relatives of the girl so as I said before, I give up.:| The ironic part is that chicks my age don't wanna go out w/ me because I look too young.

Also, I'm with coolio on this one, threats of violence (however hypothetical) add nothing to the discussion, and only serve to cheapen it.

You misunderstood. I was meaning to say that I wouldn't have a problem with it if she was 19-20 and he was 24-25 in Noodle's example.

Why not answer the fucking questions I asked you before asking some more? You obviously have some strong opinions on this subject. You might as well share them. I'd hate to just write you off as as someone who supports pedophiles without hearing you out.
 
I dated a 17 year old when I was 22, no one seemed to think that was very strange, I know girls who have been with 23-24 year old guys when they were 16 so IMHO 16-17 and 21 isn't too young but OTOH I'm in Sweden where the age of consent is 15 (and the law is phrased in such a way that if say a 14 year old and a 17 year old have sex then it's not prosecutable) and most people don't seem to have some kind of psychotic breakdown at the thought of teenagers having sex.

Yes, there is something wrong with protecting one's family from consensual sex acts. You do not own your wife or daughter, and despite it being commonly accepted as true, you don't have a right to tell them what to do with their vaginas. You don't have a right to seek retaliation or retribution against people for any reason except in cases of immediate physical self-defense. Two wrongs don't make a right.

Yes, it's okay for a female to fuck whoever she wants whenever she wants if it's consensual. Most judges or juries would find that a 10 year old is not capable of generating informed consent, regardless of the 'age of consent'. If she was educated about sex and capable of making an informed decision, then why shouldn't she have the right? The laws that regulate human sexuality are sick.
 
Don't do it! Chances are you won't get caught, but at the same time do you want the following to happen:

My gf's brother met some girl online a while ago. He was 22 at the time and she said she was 16. HA! Turns out she was 14.
So, 8am on a Saturday morning about 2 months ago, undercover cops rocked up at their house (bro and sis live together). "Hello mam, we're from the department of sexual offences and child abuse units. We have a warrant for (insert name here). Can we come in please?"

Long story short, the girl apparently lied about her age. He's currently up to around $20000 in legal fees with an upcoming court date soon. The QC is going to cost $5500 a day and the case is going to take at least 6-8 days.

Best case scenario: 12 months suspended sentence. Record the rest of his life.
Worst case scenario: 3 years in the lock up.

Do you really want to risk this?

Sounds like you scored my friend. As long as she doesnt get pregnant or her parents know than your golden. But damn, if she gets pregnant your going to get it bad.. Statutory Rape, you would be shunned for life :\
 
what the hell? I was 17 as a junior, 18 as a senior. Isn't that what it is normally? I'm 21 right now, and would tentatively date a 17yr old girl. For senior prom your date could be 21. I dunno, just don't do illegal shit.

So what exactly did your gf's brother do wrong? Did he actually have sex with the 14 year old, and didn't bother to check her ID or something? Or was he charged with 'soliciting' a minor, just for talking dirty to her online?

Because she's fucking 10. Giving a 10-year-old a sex education class and calling her "mature for her age" doesn't mean she's still not just a kid.

Luckily both of us gets to make that decision for ourselves and our families independently. If you don't mind your 10-year-old having sex with a 30-year-old because you taught her about the birds and the bees and she consented, go right ahead. Me? I'm going to continue to protect my family from pedophiles.

nobody under the age of 13 should ever have sex. Most girls who are having sex at that age or younger are pressured into it or brainwashed. Personally as a female sex never interested me until i was 13. 10 is way too young, that is disgusting that any man would find a 10 year old girls body sexual in any way.

A few hundred years ago, puberty was the dividing line between "adult" and "kid". Nowadays, 10 year olds have already gone through puberty sometimes. The concept of a "kid" is fallacious and disrespectful towards the young.
 
A few hundred years ago they used to burn people at the stake for Witchcraft. I hardly see how what people did a few hundreds ago is relevant to today's society.

You can justify it any way you want, but if you think it's ok for an adult to have sex with a 10-year-old simply because they've gone through puberty and have learned about sex, you're a pedophile in my book.

People like you are the reason I have to be willing to protect my family, even if it requires violence. One of my responsibilities as a brother and father is and always will be keeping people like you away from the people I care about. :\
 
It seems to be publicly acceptable to say that you really really want to get a gun and kill every person that has committed a sexual crime against a minor. I guess here in Iowa.

the question is easy. you are over the legal age of consent, she is under. It does not matter how honest, uninterested in sex, or well intended you are. Her older brother is no one to The Man. You live in the states right? Arizona? do you live in reality too? it's a felony. you guys get in an argument, she does not realize what will happen to you if someone finds out, she tells, you are fucked like a duck.

sex laws here in the states are a little out there. but they exist, and they are enforced. we are charging 15 year old girls with production of child pornography because of iphone pics they have taken of themselves. you think they won't throw you away because you didn't mean anything bad by it?

and this thread is nuts. everything from half threatening violence over the internet to "why can't we fuck 10-year olds?"
