a child is a child. regardless of whether their body is sexual mature, their brain is not. you can inform them to the best of your ability but a 10 year-old child is not emotionally mature enough to fully comprehend sex. they likely wouldn't even understand when they were being victimized - they don't have the mental capacity to protect themselves.

never mind the detrimental psychological effects a child or even young adolescent may have (and if you don't believe this is so, work in CPS) , i haven't really read anyone taking into consideration that a 10 year-old isn't equipped to handle possible consequences of sex, like pregnancy or sexually transmitted illnesses.

i cannot believe people are actually arguing that a child is able to make adult decisions.

As far as I can tell, there is only ONE person arguing that position; not enough to warrant a plural. Personally, I find the idea that a grown man could find the body of a 10 year old sexually attractive... unfathomable. But then again there are some seriously twisted fuckers out there.

You got me wrong. What I wanted (but apparently failed to) say is that there is a big difference in the way sex with a minor is perceived depending on the gender of the participants. I was asking why this paradox, or rather, double standard exists...fool

I'm discussing nothing of the sort when talking about double standards. Openly admitting to holding a double standard is idiotic. Openly admitting that you treat women one way out of some historical patriarchal tradition and men in a more respectful manner is idiotic too.

Eh I think I'll stick to treating the fairer sex with the level of delicacy and compassion I think they deserve. Your idealistic views are all well and good(well, not really), but they're not realistic when a Women you care about comes to you crying asking you for the protection that you consider so disrespectful.

If you look at almost any social family-oriented species on the planet the same dynamic is in play: The females are the nurturers that raise the young and the males are the protectors of the females, young, and territory. Maybe someday in the far off future we'll evolve beyond that dynamic, but until then I'm going to continue to serve my role and protect my family.

I live in the uk where the age of consent is 16. Ive been with many 16yr olds. As,long as their 16 then its ok. I prefer 16-18yr olds.
