Guns/Weapons Discussion

I own several firarms. I have one M4gery built with a RRA upper, and a Colt lower. I also have a M4gery lower atatched to a 20" Bushmaster's Varmint upper. I have two Kel-Tec P11s, one is converted to a P40. A Glock 26 9mm. I'm looking for Para Ordnance Carry 12 right now. I want it in stainless and with the black wrap-around grip.

i've got a M4gery myself. although, it's a pre-ban '98 Bushmaster lower with a GG&G flat rail upper. Trijicon ACOG site. Surefire handrail. my pistol is a gen 2 Glock 17. can't get a gen 3 here in MA. i'm looking for a model 19, but can't seem to find one. i've also got a remmington 870 police model.

I can legally buy a handgun in this country now ... moving far shortly though, not sure how the gun laws are there, so might just buy one here before I leave.
I have the $, but really not to spend on a gun ... but a Glock17 looks mighty nice (no $ for a Sig or space for a rifle)

actually, i was stating the scenario you pointed out. reread it, then you'll see what i meant. it was a pretty detailed scenario.

You mean like those terrorist attacks, or the crazy people running around London with bombs in their suitcases?

How do like that ACOG? I've been thinking of moving to something other than the a2 irons, but I'm torn on an Aimpoint, which is combat proven, or a real scope.

I can get gen 3 Glock's here, but I don't like them as much as the Para-Odnance Carry's.

you know, we used to have the old trijicons at work. they sucked ass. we currently use Eotech. i like them. however, while at the range, my buddy let me use his ar with the ACOG. holy crap, that thing is awsome. i find it easier to use both eyes with the ACOG. but then again, i'm mostly using it for close quarters. and from what i understand there are some marines in iraq that are using them too. aimpoint is also a nice system. try shooting with a couple different systems if you can. and choose the one you like best. some systems aren't for everyone.

but i have yet to hear anyone claim that it was ok because of the second amendment. hell, people have gone on shooting sprees across the globe, yet the US is the only one with an amendment to their constitution like our second amendment.

I personally detest guns and I'm glad that I live in a culture that doesn't readily accept them. I don't think it is necessary for your average citizen to bear arms.

But that's my opinion and the majority opinion of people in my own country. Societies are welcome to develop their own rules and regulations - so while I think it is stupid that the US openly embraces weapons, they're certainly not the only country to do so (look at sections of the middle east). As long as it's in your own backyard.

I don't own one yet but as soon as I turn 21 (16 days) I am going to pick up a small .22 for target practice and a standard 9mm baretta for home protection. The baretta will also be used for target practice, when I can actually afford 9mm ammunition. Not sure which models yet, i'll figure that out after talking with my more expirienced gunweilding friends and the shopkeeper.

^ They made you a mod, and you can not even obey the UA. I'd like to see you use your brains against an intruder, you can't even use them to control yourself long enough to refrain from forcing your values and morals onto others.

I don't have pictures of any of my firearms, and honestly I can't get any as all but one is 2000 miles away right now. The one that isn't is at the FFL dealer waiting for registration with the Provost Marshall..

There is nothing in the User agreement about joking replies. I highly doubt seuss is being malicious in any way so there is no need to get angry and accusatory.

My home defence consists of a ninja sword, a .22 air pistol and 1 .177 dart rifle with long range scope.

The dart rifle of course can take poisoned ammunition if needs be=D

Malicious in the value of serious lack of contribution to a valid discussion. I can vouch to say that every post I have seen about firearms in the US has been hit with nothing but page after page of seriously off-topic posting relating to why gun's are sooooo bad from the people that know almost nothing about the issue at hand. Even more so from those not even in a country that has legal gun ownership, and not even in the US.

It is troublesome to have to sift through 9 pages of garbage, because they are so animated against another person's interests, but cry foul when someone else disturbs another person's interest. My firearms do not harm anyone not breaking into my house. I do not use any illegal substances, and do not actively let my anger, or hatred of anyone group or person control me at time of the day, and in fact I can not even get in touch with the majority of my firearms as they are at the Armory on the base. I use them for my training only. The only one at my house is my CCW handgun, which I do have the license for.

In fact I'm willing to bet more people die from drug and alcohol related causes than by firearms every year. Remember tobacco kills a lot of people every year, and alcohol does as well.

In the end I think some people are only happy if they are complaining about others.
I try not to, but the attitude towards frearms is merely based on utter fear that your mortallity is too fragile to be threatened by a happenstance of a stray bullet. It's less likely than dying of drug use though, and so much that it's ridiculous to assume firearms are too dangerous.

I think it is such a controversial issue that anyone has the right to express their opinion. Whether or not we live in a country that supports the rights of their citizens to carry guns is largely irrevelant - the US is such an influential country that any decisions made by it have both a direct and an indirect impact on the citizens of others.

At least drug use is a choice. You elected to ingest such and such substance. With a gun, death is caused by something outside of your control (in most circumstances). You are a victim of someone else's choosing, whether that be intentional or not.

People are entitled to disagree, particularly in a public environment.
