It means a fucking lot to me personally because I spent years of my life hating the person I was born, to the point of slashing my arms and legs with razors and attempted suicide.

Also, I'm far from the only person around here who might have cause to be offended by that word. Anyone on an earlier stage of their Journey in particular might consider it more offensive than I do; they would be within their rights, and I would be on their side.

What I choose to say in reference to myself is, literally, fuck all to do with the forum or its users.

I'm going to leave it here, and hope that anyone involved or reading in future is aware that self-deprecating humour is my defense mechanism, it is the same for others, but I still take just as much offense from similar terms if they are used in a manner I deem to be intentionally offensive.
Being offended is not the reason some things are incorrect, the fact that everything here is written in black and white and so what may not be intended to offend can lead to an entire section of society avoiding this forum, and that may kill people, is the issue.

So, moving on, I have to leave the house at some point to go shopping while under the influence of a drug that won't last long enough to avoid me sobering up in the middle of ASDA.

I've never had a cat as I'm more of a dog person to but in my old flat the neighbours cat used to wander in all the time if the door was open and come in and sit on my knee while I watched TV. She seemed to like my ambulance fleece for some reason..... When she left I'd spend the next hour trying to get rid of the tonne pof fur she'd left behind..... Lovely cat though.

I do prefer dogs myself, and my dog is my best friend, but taking in a dog is a commitment on every conceivable level and also taking a massive risk on the temperament of dogs that only remember the abuse they've suffered.
Cats, cats don't generally give two fucks once they know you're not a threat and give them the choice to hunt for their food or eat what you provide.

Perhaps you should go back and read again what was different in OTW's post compared to Julie's. Therein you will find the reason for the warning. And perhaps also note that if it weren't for the context it would have been an infraction.

As several people have noted now, this stuff really isn't complicated. Neither Busty nor yourself are stupid and know this perfectly well. We get it: you don't like the fact that certain terms are somewhat sensitive and contentious and site policy on how best to deal with use of such language is not to your taste. You also know why BL has taken the stance it has on these apparently overwhelmingly delicious forbidden fruit so just can't help yourselves from scrumping. That is your prerogative just as it is forum staff's prerogative to do their job.

If it really means so much to you then perhaps it would help to form relevant and coherent arguments as to why in the case of posting on BL (what happens in wider society is beyond our remit - even the mightiest of modsticks doesn't work out there - and is a very different case to make) the right to use terms that are widely used to intimidate, belittle, abuse and harass certain societal groups outweighs the forum rules against their use here. Simply breaking the rule in order to complain about the results of breaking the rule does not count as being relevant, coherent or useful in any way. Just seems rather childish in all honesty.

The difference is really rather obvious I would have thought. Personally insulting an individual - calling each other cunts, cocks and cumguzzlers or whatever - is generally not seen as a problem so long as it doesn't amount to bullying. Calling somebody a black cunt, a a kyke cock or a faggot cumguzzler would be an entirely different matter. Are you seriously telling me you don't see a difference between the two?

Much of this stuff is generic and - I would have thought - blindingly obvious and in no way controversial. There are also times when there is more going on - many of our members have years of interactions which provide context to comments - in such cases staff will sometimes use their judgement because that is why we have human mods rather than some bot programme blindly infracting people for words.
