Just finishing off some Stella which isn't my drink of choice but it was free which is the best price. I picked up a copy of "Anti-Social. The secret diary of an Anti-Social behaviour officer" by Nick Pettigrew 2 days ago and it's so funny, the amount of times I've had to stop reading as I've laughed so hard at what his writing about folks is beyond count. I swear this guy is a genius & his take upon UK life is excellent. Think of a mix between The Inbetweeners, Shameless & Brass Eye.

"Has your life become unbearable because the person living above you has a fondness for crack cocaine, the company of strangers and dance music? Or maybe you're a social worker, mental health nurse, police officer, firefighter, dog warden or vicar and you've been landed with someone who's a pain in the arse. Who are you going to call? That would be me: an anti-social behaviour officer.

Yes.
No real secret, just time. They took a few years to get established, but now they just self seed every year.


 
wow. So they are 'perennials' then, if that is the right term?

I didn't even know that, I thought they were once and done annuals only. Do you leave the plants in after you have chopped the pods off, or leave the pods in situ until they have 'shot their seed' so to speak?

No, they're definitely annuals. I let the pods fully open to release the seeds, then chop them off and dry out. I then just pull the rest of the plant out and discard. Enough seeds fall on the area for the next year's crop.

I’ve been umming and arring over getting a Sur Ron electric bike. Expensive and for the same money could buy a decent 450 off road motorbike, but ‘coz they’re electric bikes it means I can take it where I can’t take a motorbike.

That and there’s no peddling which suits my fat ass just fine. 😂

TBH with you Harold Shipman I'd not used them in ages, well over 2 years but I had a run of luck with a few decent raises and took all the items up to them & got enough cash to see me through the wee. When I got enough cash for white & dark it's a good day.

The one guy is clearly gay, his the lady one in the bedroom as his so camp, you can just tell his the one who takes it and not interested in giving it but his fair with me when it comes to prices, I've seen others in there who were clearly sick & his refused to accept the items or given them a really shit offer then his helped me out on a buyback offer.

I'm always polite, never cause a scene on the shop floor, we both had a laugh at 3 guys pissed at 9:30am a few weeks ago, it's useful to get along with the folks behind the counter if you are sick and need cash quick or the next few days are going to be rough for you.
I'm sure they know I'm a baghead I admit but I'm not one of the bag-rats or Smackhead types & the people who work there can clearly tell the difference.

I use manners and be kind to any old people in the plac, I don't push past them or call them"fucking stupid cunts" like I've heard some fellow addicts. That kind of behaviour is noted even in rough, working class areas where the high street is full of charity shops, pawn brokers & gambling shops.

It works in your favour to be polite and keep your mouth shut in my experienc.

I'd get the electronic bike I'd you're not in a stupid hurry. No license required and as you said it can go anywhere. Nice chunky tyres?

Scandinavia is beautiful too.

Our political establishment is somewhat like if the more radical left within the US democrats got to have a country all of their own. Including both the social security stuff and the frontier ideology stuff.
