No, they weren't insured because they're too busy making money rather than maintaining the property. The cause was an overloaded electrical socket coupled with an antiquated wiring system. My lad said it was an accident waiting to happen. Being Chinese, they own a Chinese takeaway next door which survived and is still open. I can't comment on their hygiene, but it sounds like their maintenance was lacking.

And yes, she's staying with us.

As for the thongs, no comment :!

popolinos is legendary for being cheap and tasty. when i was doing my masters it was something like £3.50 for a pizza, gone up cos that was like 14 years ago but still cheap, like poorly hidden money laundering front cheap. so if they are passing the savings they've making on cleaning products to the customers, all is well. its me and my friends go to, in over a decade of regular patronage none of us have got ill.

i have gone like properly deaf by standing in front of a v loud speaker with no ear plugs, and then doing the same thing again. i will likely do it again today. i've been going to gigs regularly for over 20 years and never experienced anything like it. bit scared!!
 
As part of my ongoing dextox/health kick I visited the pharmacy today to get some Fish OIl capsules and some Centrum for men along with rehydration salt sachets

The arable soil here isn't as nutrient rich as in may other parts of the world because of the specific geology of how these countries came to exist from land that was once under the sea - so many staple veggies here are low in iron and other minerals & also; the water I drink 4L of each day is reverse osmosis water- it has no mineral value - so occasional supplementation is both beneficial and necessary

Fucking $50 dollars! That's more than any actual medicinal purchase i have made in years. Thought they would be a tenner, lol

Reminds me of a episode of my rather chaotic but always lucky life many years ago.... I had met a young lady and we wanted somewhere which offered more privacy than was available to us, with our limited capacity and funds as well as friends who offered no more than a sofa. Out of this gloom came Piers, who had purchased a rather lovely large Victorian terrace house in Parsons Green and had given a Lucy a key. However although the house was indeed magnificent it was also in dire need of refurbishment but being young and adventurous this didn't stop us ending up there after a long day of smoking hash and snorting coke. The first few hours were ecstatic, lots of sex by candlelight but afterwards it felt a little cold. Fortunately there was a fan heater which, set by the bed, gave a blast of warm air and we soon fell in to a post coital reverie.
' wake the fuck up' ..I could hear the words but they sounded like they were a long way off and unimportant. Next came the shaking and slapping, slowly I managed to open my eyes but could hardly lift my head from the pillow but with support from Lucy I got off the bed. It was very dark, none of the lights were on and we half walked half clambered into the downstairs living room. It was only then after she had opened the windows to let the smoke out I began to realise what had happened. The fan heater had shorted out due to the ancient wiring and had set fire to the mattress on my side of the bed. In the morning light there was a charred mattress on my side with a black out line of my head and shoulders on the half burnt pillow but I had no I injuries whatsoever, it's the fumes that kill you.
 
One guy planned this little tour in Sweden burning Qurans to make a political statement.

There are full riots before he can even begin, across several cities. Cars on fire, police car stolen (wtf), dozens arrested and several people now injured by police fire. Not one second too early imo.

Meanwhile drugs are illegal, even being on drugs.

Retarded situation. Unacceptable violence cannot be controlled and is even actively exacerbated by policy, but harmless drug use is persecuted. It's like a joke.

Not sure where to put my rant but this subforum atleast has some geographical theme. Feel free to move this somewhere more appropriate if only drugs specifically are to be discussed here.

Would you like a criminal record for drug posession just for a simple bit of weed.
That means not many jobs in Christian Sweden for you druggy swine.

In Ostersund the police even warned girls, after midnight if you're white and blonde you are totally not safe in the roads.

Yeah it's really twisted, though the police is at least as ineffective persecuting drug use as they are handling violent outbreaks, which is nice.

I think the police warning in Östersund was to all girls, to be fair. Seems unlikely they would discriminate ethnically in an official statement.
 
Flip side...a friend was busted with a brick of skag and got 4 years in what he described as more or less a secure hotel.. cosy.

yeah, a friend got six months in a swedish slammer; actually sounded like a nice time, good food, facilities, councellors, conjugal visits - if I ever need rehab I will just get myself busted entering Sweden carrying a packet of benzo's or smth

mpf is done, was awesome, spent too much money but fuck it.

they did amazingly given all the covid fuckery. all the bands were having to do tests every day in the run up, some had to pull out at the last minute. a lot of people were swapping musicians. pizzatramp both the drummer and bassist tested positive so literally only 1/3 playing their set was actually in the band. massive respect to anyone who will play for other bands as well as their own so they don't have to pull out.

Just wondering, were there many youngsters there?

I feel that the younger generations just don't appreciate real music anymore and when they do attend things like this, they're more interested in posting selfies to say "look at me!"

There's been a jazz and blues festival round my way this weekend and the daughter and all her mates went. But not once have they expressed any real interest in the music. It seems to be something that they need to be 'seen at'.
 
Out of interest, mods and technical people...

...I basically use two forums these days. This (irregularly) and another (regularly). Both use xenforo. The other one easily allows the posting of pictures (not copypasta pics from google, well yes those too, but actual pics taken by a person.)

Why doesn't this forum allow that?

In other news I'm in Montenegro and it's fucking stunning. But, of course, you'll have to take my word for that. Because I can't post pics. Why not?
