Fuck I need to knock this behaviour in the head sharpish. I'm over a week clean of everything again and feeling better at least thank fuck! I'm probably getting a disciplinary from work for my current conduct and am broke as a joke, but other than that no permanent harm hopefully.

Need to watch those benzos man. They make me irresponsible as fuck.

EADDers probably know that there's been studies done on rats and cocaine etc. Given the choice between cocaine and food or water they will chose cocaine over the other things every time until they die in short order. They've even mocked up electrodes direct to rats brains that were supposed to stimulate the effects of cocaine, and again no surprise they kept on nudging those electrodes for the rewards, and neglecting food and water until death.

Fortunately there doesnt seem to be much point repeating similar types of experiments now. I think we can guess the results across all species.

It was a 'basic psychology for first year university students' text book. Maybe it was over-simplified for first year students. Probably was tbh. It could also have been the time period that I read it in, as maybe the follow up studies had not been done at that point, round about 1991.
