@Zopiclone bandit the risks are sort of hyped up and overstated. Most places in Mexico are statistically no more dangerous than the bad parts of many US cities. It's just the kidnappers and cartel zones that are what you want to avoid.

Honestly I just fear the cartels, I used to buy from their low level guys. They don't fuck around. I did see a few people get robbed and the hotel room next to be burglarized when I was there in Mexico .

Check this out, I laughed so hard at this video. I know a few people who live in Oaxaca, some are Mexican Born and raised & the other guy was born in East Texas but has also settled down in Oaxaca as it's not as wild compared to places closer to the American border. Only finding 10 headless corpses per year dumped in the street is a very good sign your town is "safe" and I'm NOT joking here. Speaking to people from Mexico sure makes you think about the cost of drug use, imho anyone who uses heroin and doesn't feel guilty for funding Jihad nutcases is a fucking idiot, when you think how many thousands of pounds has ended up in the hands of Jihad groups always keeps me up at night crushed by horrific guilt. It's the same for everyone who did cocaine in the 1980's in regards to the cash going back to Escobar.
