Morning Eadd :)

I woke up far too early for a Monday - made the most of it and cooked breakfast tidied the place and shifted quite a bit of stuff that needed to be done. It's already in the hundreds so shorts are on and the ac's are cranked up - it's a bit early for a beer though.

yeah i woke up early when i could have really had a few hours extra sleep but at least my sleeping pattern is getting somewhat back to normal. Lots to do this week. Mercifully my calendar is relatively clear for the next few weeks while I have a lot of uni stuff to get through but it's still galling having to sit indoors all day when the sun is shining and I want to be doing fun stuff instead of slogging away at the last few bits of this jumping through hoops b.s

oh and the total chaos in england in the news isn't helping me stay focused either.

I've had a pretty lazy day - couldn't start on the beers as had to go shopping. Made some bread for dinner, finished the shopping so I think it's beer time for a few hours, then dinner then I think I'll go for a massage (worn myself out doing nothing).

i dont yet have the DNA/RNA editing lab setup yet so atm just using them to make some tasty loafs rather than create some psychoactive mutant yeast.
 
My laptop wouldn't emit any noise while playing music or videos earlier, so I rebooted, checked drivers, rebooted, checked all manner of shit, rebooted again, decided it was time to update Windows 8 for the first time after two years, did that, rebooted again, still no fucking volume!!

Then I saw the headphones were plugged in.

I forgot that I'd taken my laptop battery out one time and took a fit of rage wondering why it turned off every time I took the power cable out, especially considering I'd only bought a new battery a month before that.

It's like coming home and looking for your drugs you've hidden, and not finding them after turning the house upside down, then checking the first location again and realise they were staring you in the face (my drugs have eyes).

Impressive but I reckon I can... "beat" is definitely not the right word but you know what I mean.

A few weeks back I got myself into a considerable tizz and lost internet access - and indeed all PC use - for ~24h because even though my considerably better half suggested I check the power cable during said considerable tizz I thought this was far too ridiculously obvious a thing to have happened and clearly I has totally... well totalled my PC. In my very slight defence I would just like to point out that I was trialling a combo of ALD-52 and O-PCE that night... I agree this is a woefully inadequate excuse all the same :|:o:!

(although don's above post does provide some hope that my level of technical incompetence can and will be beaten into second place one of these days :D)

I have a similar, yet infinitely more embarrassing, claim to fuckwittery myself.

Having been overcome by the urge for a crafty porn sesh late one night while the wife was asleep, I donned my headphones and selected a suitably salacious scene from my USB wank stick. However, the soundtrack was disappointingly muffled and seemed distant, so I turned it up a bit - but there was little improvement. it wasn't until I got it to full volume that I realised the headphones were NOT plugged in...
 
I was under the impression that anybody who is engaging in such malarkey regularly double checks that isn't happening as a handy side-effect of regularly raising one of the headphones to check that particularly loud barrage of generic pornchick screams, squeals and relentlessly monotonous "dirty talk" couldn't be heard through several doors and/or a ceiling or two. That'll just be then I guess :o

You might be on to something there. If I spend the night in the cells, I won't need to pay for the bus to work in the morning :)
