Gibberings CCXI - Decorating a Horse with Fanny Pads

The heat here is crazy at the moment - it was in the upper 40's yesterday (110+) which was a bit too.

I feel so sorry for the people in Turkey at the moment, another disgusting attack on soft targets :(
 
A reminder for those of us that smoke ciggies. I had a chest x ray yesterday because of this cough i have had..a its come back with what my doctor calls "smoking related damage..we cant say exactly how bad it is but its there "

So i have to get a CT scan tomorrow to get a better idea of what is actually there then probably a biopsy done as well. Pretty scary. It may well be nothing but a timely wake up call or it could be not so good. Not podting this for sympathy or to worry people.The only reason i am posting this is as a reminder to those of us here that smoke of the potential consequences of doing it. I am only 44. No more ciggies for me that is for sure.

I had chest pains for years before I quit smoking

Went to my Dr about it and he said "You really don't want to be tested for lung cancer if it's not strictly necessary"

I thought that was bad advice so I went home and googled how they actually do the test. Turns out he was right.

Enjoy your new tobacco free life ! That shit stinks. Can't believe I did it for so long

Yes well a biopsy is unfortunately on my cards. There are definitely worse procedures you can undergo that is for sure but no it does not sound pleasant. But if it comes to it i would rather know so if they have to stick a needle into my lung so be it.
 
Morning All.

Payday today thank fuck. Although since I've lost my unsociable hours payments with being on the sick and have earnings attachments for council tax, traffic fines and everything else under the sun it's hardly a fortune but still.....wages is wages.

Been out and treated myself to a new book (Moved on to the 2nd Afghan War as can't find any WW2 books I've not already read in WH Smiths). Bored out of my tits with nothing to do all day and can't sleep at night for the life of me.

That sounds nasty consumer mate. I switched to a vape a while a go but still buy an ounce of baccy every week as well......just can't seem to kick the smokes. Sad as it sounds I think it would take a similar health scare to get me to quit alltogether and even then it would be a struggle......

@comsumer: well, at least now you will know where you stand, nothing worse than uncertainty. Hope all goes well.

I smoked two cigarettes the night before last for the first time since I quit 2.5 years back. I enjoyed them, but fuck going back on the smelly things.

Nah mate I didn't owe enough for that. I had a speeding fine that I took to court and lost and got a big fine that comes straight out of my wages plus I got a letter saying I owed a load of council tax from a flat I lived in 4 years ago. They stuck an earnings attachment onto my wages for both and it all comes off at source. Plus 25% of my wages are in the form of an unsociable hours payment since I have to work days or nights 365 days of the year if asked and obviously if your not working those hours you don't get it.

It all adds up to a shit load of money that I'm not getting but nowt I can do about it really. Last month was a 5 week month too so things got a bit right towards the end of the month. There's nowt I can do about it really but with having so much time off sick in the past few months tho vs have been a bit tight.....

Its wierd isnt it how you crave cigs until you actually smoke them then you thing fuck me that was horrible.....yet we still do it. That's addiction for you though I suppose.
 
maybe you need a better vape BigG, or higher nic concentrate liquids. Some of the vapes out there are just not that great and I find most people that vape but still smoke (even tho its decreased their overall tobacco use) its because they haven't got one of the better designed vape kits + right type of liquid.

definately going to make an impact on smoking related illnesses as vaping gains more traction among the smoking population.

Actually I've got 2 expensive vape setups ( thought I'd lost one and bought another only to find the first one down the side of the sofa). I usually get a 6mg liquid as stronger hurts my throat. Its a case of finding a flavor you like really. I use the vape quite a bit but sometimes just feel like a real cig.
 
high propylene glycol content in the liquid may be what is hurting your throat, I vape 70% glycerol liquids with 5.2mg/ml nicotine concentration, mix my own liquid so no colourants or other random crap in it, only using very clean fruit flavourings.

mnost of the commercially available liquids tend to have high PG content and that can make people cough. (high PG because it wicks better in low powered setups, reducing the viscosity of the VG)

i started on 18mg/ml liquid the day i started vaping, then after a couple weeks dropped to 10mg/ml nicotine, and I haven't smoke a cig since. that was 3 years ago now.
 
Did 76 mgs of O-Desmethyltramadol about 45 mins ago, expected more, haven't touched my bupre script since yesterday at lunchtime, but I guess given subs outrageously long half life they are still having a blocking effect on my receptors.

Have made some more capsules but I have to go into town(with the car) to get a haircut and buy food so I don't trust myself with another dose, will wait until sunset and terrace time.

So has the sky fallen yet or just the pound? How's post brexit Britain? Hang in there, I'm sure the financial slumps is just speculators making a killing off the vote, once they skimmed a few billions off your pensions they'll go back to exploit other economies.

Yeah I like the PG/VG ones cos they make the big clouds of vapor. I'm off out now to the shops to get some of the tobbaco/custard flavour ejuice (nicer than it sounds). Got to go to the bank to pay a load of bills so been putting it off but need to get it done.

Dropped to 12mcg of fentanyl patch today so feeling a bit rough until I get used to this dose. Was gonna get some RC benzo powder and PG solution to make this taper a bit more doable but just checked out the prices of benzo powder since the RC ban and fuck me they have skyrocketed!! I dont think I'll bother....

Really didn't want to do this fent taper but the doctor pretty much scared me into it cos he said my general health just wasn't strong enough to go through protracted fentanyl withdrawl. Especially after the cardiac scare with the sepsis.....

When he put it like that I thought I'd better be a good lad and do as I'm told.....

Fentanyl patches are pretty much the worst opiate possible to taper with though as the smallest size they come in is 12mcg which is equivalent to 30mg morphine and is a big drop to taper with. Cutting the matrix patches into smaller and smaller strips is the only way to do it realistically even though they tell you not to do that....

Yeah I broke my phone and simultaneous spilled coffee on my internet dongle......

Since all that was clearly bluelight's fault I went off in the huff until I could afford to get it fixed. :)

Glad you got it fixored (yeah this BL can be such a hazard to RL stuff) - I took a month of where I was a post away from just quitting, including pillreport - I do enjoy a good huff though.
 
Dosed another 68 mgs of odesmethyltramadol, now it feels decent. Cooking pizza tonight, forgot to put the dough out of the fridge, will have to eat late.

It's still 32 celsius, outside, this weather kills me. Can't wait for september, I really hate summer these days.

R.I.P. to all those people in Istanbul, travelled through that airport in November while going to South Korea, beautiful, modern airport that is, really nice. I don't want to sound like an asshole, but blowback is a bitch, Erdogan financed and armed cuthroats in Syria for years.
