I paid for sex once. Groningen in Holland, thought why not Ill give it a go. It was the most awful awkward experience of my entire life. The idea of actually having to pay someone to sleep with me felt too shameful and depressing to go through with, so she earned an easy 50 euros the nasty slut! No refunds either.

Im all for legal prostitution though, if the man wants it and the woman is willing to do it then why not? Just not for me is all.... Ill have to stick to plying girls with tons of booze and cocaine instead.

really? most of them have it forced on them by circumstance. the only ho i ever knew did and she did not enjoy having to, she was fucked up but still deserved respect.

i don't get what the issue is personally. if you're not forced by circumstance then you're using your body to exploit men. whats wrong with using what you've got to make a little money?
 
Most of these women are exploiting themselves, like 95% of them in the parlours and brothels are there out of there own accord, they have chosen to take that path in a "career", they can leave at any time and they can stop when ever they want. Its just supplying a service to men, whats not right about it?


Prostitution is the oldest proffesion in the world, there are worse things in the world that are "not right" that no one batters an eyelid at. Me being forced to go watch a shite film with my girlfriend is more wrong than a woman choosing to sell herself for sex.

Oldest profession in the world. People will always exploit sex, simple fact.

With many things there are rights or wrongs at the same time, it all comes down to informed choices, i.e. an escort who is well aware of her actions vs an underage girl in Thailand.

While not denying the reality of the situation that 'sex sells'.

A) I bet toolmaking is an older profession. Cliches aren't always true.

B) If I find that Islam/Christianity/Jedi-ism is the 'oldest religion' does that justify their load of hogwash?

Actually a) and b) are related. In that monotheistic religions imposed all the sexual roles in the first place. Which is even more reason to rail against....both.
 
it depends on what you value really. i would much prefer to sell my body for say 3 hours a week at 100 pounds an hour than sell my mind for 8 hours a day at a shit job for 300 quid a week. i don't see why selling your body is worse than spending most of your life doing something you don't enjoy.

No, you're right, its not. Anyway I didn't mean to get into a debate about the morals of prostitution I just meant to point out that we should respect still respect prostitutes as people and whatever the typed version of verbal diarrhea got the better of me.

I would bet that those tools were made for men to gain more power to have more sex :)

I guess it really comes down to if you can put a sentimental value to sex or not. I cannot, and can thus justify the women who provide that service and men who pay for it.

Is it right or wrong, ethical or unethical... I think as I said before,it is all about informed choices.

Would I ever want my daughter or mother to do it as a profession, not a chance in a million, which contradicts my reasoning in the first place.

Well this is one of the ethical debates about Escorts. Are they home wreckers or home makers? You could argue that many men have affairs, flirt outrageously with other women etc yet the relationship continues with the spose totally in the dark. It's incredibly degrading for the spouse because everybody else knows her husband is taking the piss out of her, except her because telling her would be too much of a minefield.

With escorts, men get a sexual need out of the way every now and then, and it totally eliminates his sexual frustration. He stops flirting with women and the bond with the spouse is reinforced and stronger even from the perspective of others. I have read that many men find the sex with escorts spices up the sex life with their parners too. Don't ask me why I read books about this shit, I have some strange fascinations.

What is a fact, is that most women who are not escorts, HATE escorts. That view is reflected in this thread. It all comes down to your faith in humanity. Is it really possible to have a partner you love, eat and shit together with, and also great sex with? This is something I am wrestling with. I think it may be possible for periods of time, but not all the time. Recently I managed to rekindle the sex life with my girlfriend which was getting worringly shit hence me looking into this area. In my case, I would never have left my girlfriend. I love her too much, escorts would have been an option. Some of you here can probably attest to drugs keeping relationships interesting too, or possibly damaging them...

This stigma has got to stop, they are not skanky horrible women. I honestly want to believe it is possible to visit escorts and the whole thing to be ethical and equitable from all parties, nobody is exploiting anyone. But there is clearly a distinction between high class escorts and those who really are vulnerable and exploited. The latter I deplore.

I would like to agree with the sentiment of "what is the issue". However the thing that drags in my mind is that these women must be somehow damaged from their experiences as an escort, even if they were never abused. First the stigma, but secondly they must find it hard to integrate back into society and have normal relationships after. There seems to be a strong link with some drugs too but I don't know enough to comment on that.

Here here. It annoys us druggies that there is so much unnessecary stigma toward us, yet we show our ignorance and hipocracy towards another area.

Exactly! And that should be the end of the matter. However the elephant in the room is the potential damage it could do in the long run. Hardly any escort would admit to anyone what they did for a living. Imagine your future boy friend finding out too...

I was just goading a reaction not trying to intimidate. & although my attitude on this thread has been abhorrent, it's not without good reason; i had surgery last year & have been on codeine, citalopram etc so sex hasn't been on my mind exactly. I rarely even wake up with a stiffy, but i recently got off the antidepressants & have lowered my codeine so my libido is coming back i'm just feeling very 'out of touch' with the whole meeting up with girls thing & once i've got a bit of stamina back i'm ready to hit up an old girlfriend from college but if i get with her in this condition i'll likely never hear from her again.

P.S ^ecsplosive is bringing good thoughts to the table, none of the antagonistic crack addled stuff coming from above.
