well actually i must admit the shuffling is really designed for dancefloors at clubs .. listening to 4/4 beats.
and the talcum powder came out at warehouse raves to make it similar to the floor at a club ..
it just isnt the same thing shuffling around at a bush doof .. doesnt work ..
more stomping !!
though i was insisting on doing it because, well, for me its a fuckload more fun ! im used to it now, and its more energetic .. can 'go off' more .. you guys can bag me all you like until you see me going full pelt on a shiny, flat surface, and until you see some of the other dancers that i've seen here in melbourne that i aspire to someday be able to dance as well as.. then you'll appreciate it.
in the end, the shuffle, at the peak of a track, and at the peak of a speedbomb, hehe, is a big big force to be reckoned with, is near impossible to out-manouver, it becomes more than just feet shuffling, its a full body extreme movement - and step back before you get a foot to the head !
personally, i have a different style for each type of music -
trance i do one kind of thing, house - well, something similar but not quite .. breaks, something different again ..
and drum&bass .. i've heard a few times, uhh, you cant dance to this shit .. but i disagree totally .. drum&bass leaves open the most room for creativity. lots of jumping about ..
everyone dance how you like !
doesnt really matter .. in the end ..
as long as you're having fun.
B J - yeah, go up there and put on a show for the sydney peeps. though dont expect any respect - they may just find you amusing!!
(thats what happened to me)
