this screen is so sick!!

i think james cameron or ridley scott would both be capable of making this a wonderful film, with lucas's partial guidance. even, as much as i hate to admit it, spielberg might do alright.

it totally needs a 'blockbuster' director, but lucas is just shite.

the lightsaber fight between anakin and obi wan will be the shit!!! 2nd only to luke vs vader in ESB. the scene when luke walks up that platform, the stairs light up, and he ignites his lightsaber is genius!!!!!!

also..

yoda vs palpatine

and

mace vs anakin

its gonna be a dark movie!!!!

New 'Star Wars' Trailer to Premiere March 10

NEW YORK - Darth Vader is coming to "The O.C." The trailer for "Star Wars: Episode III — Revenge of the Sith" will premiere during the March 10 episode of the Fox show.

The final installment of the "Star Wars" saga will open in theaters on May 19. The new trailer will be released in movie theaters beginning March 11.

"Revenge of the Sith" is the third prequel to the original "Star Wars" trilogy. It continues the chronicle of young Anakin Skywalker (Hayden Christensen (news)), who eventually turns to the dark side and becomes Darth Vader.

As an avid superhero fan, Seth Cohen, the main character of "The O.C." played by Adam Brody, would likely relish the event.

"The O.C." airs Thursdays (8 p.m. EST).

I'm still wondering how Lucas is going to explain the transition from smooth, colorful, shiny ships and architecture from, the first 3 episodes to the very boxy and drab designs of the latter 3. Hopefully it's due to a kind of "dark ages" where the Empire stalls technology.

I honestly had something relevant to say in response to your post, but I lost all train of thought when I saw your avatar. Is that Kurt Russell from 'Big Trouble in Little China'?

"Boy, it sure is raining cats & dogs!" Ah man that kills me.

as shitty as that was...oooh I can't wait for this to come out. I can't stand seeing the Pacifier as No.1 in the box office.

I think it needs someone like Peter Jackson who knows how to be faithful to a story.

But then again the second LOTR sucked fairly hardcore.

^^^ jackson would probably be a good one, but one wonders if his ability to do epic is stretched only to lotr due to his passion (and the creative team)? we'll see with king kong, i guess.

still, i think he'd be better than lucas too. and you really think the two towers was that bad? i certainly agree that it was the worst of the three, and as it effectively has to be a segue for the other two, i think it did pretty well in keeping the drama alive.

being the mid-section of a fairly set-in-stone trilogy, imo, makes it rather hard to stick to the dramatically-proven (and in these, epic, circumstances) three-act structure. so i quite like it :)

^ I'm a jaded fan of the books, and the second was the furthest of the three from the books, the 1st and 3rd I thought were great. The second just seemed like Jackson's attempt to draw in the non-fan crowd by throwing in every hollywood cliche he could fit into the script. Plus he changed the motivation's of the characters so much as to make them different people from the book. He turned Theodin and Faramir into complete cunts, and made the ents a bunch of morons - robbed them of all their dignity.

Here's what I wrote just after seeing the film. I hate to admit it but it is possible I went slightly overboard with the word fuck. But I was an angry disappointed young man that day.

But back on topic I just watched that trailer and I can't say I'm overly impressed. Looks tacky...

the CGI from the released photos looks absolutely pathetic!

probably better to watch the video than trust still shots.

relax kids
it's just a movie.

have fun with it

relax kids it's just a movie.

It's a movie that has to meet expectations, though. It's not isolated in a vaccuum - it carries the weight of the first trilogy.

The Spongebob Squarepants movie was true to its roots. Episodes I and II were not.
