English Premier League football

that's what I head too, somewhere in the realm of 8m...

wenger, the eternal economist...

The Times are reporting that Man United appear to have signed Carlos Tevez, initially on a one year loan :) :) :) :)

The Evening Standard claims it's a permanent deal.

No official confirmation.

[ps: Robbie Fowler to Sunderland? He'd be a perfect signing for them if it weren't for who their manager is :D]

Tevez to man utd? Seems he wants to leave anyway thought he was off to madrid. Man utd are going to be much tougher to beat next season.

much tougher to beat next season?... is that at all possible?... Though with Tevez in their ranks, that is very possible... look at how he carried West Ham, when they looked doomed!! What a final day it was for West Ham, and poor Sheffield United...

T'was a great season, but I think next one should even be better...

Tevez deal aint done yet, the player says he has had no official approach, but there is a lot of talk in the media so its likely something is going on

apparently there's something to with making sure the money goes to west ham, although who else it might go to is a mystery...

Tevez was the one who announced it! On TV in South America.

It's still uncertain who owns his registration, I guess - Kia whats-his-name might own it. For the deal to be legit, United need to pay the transfer fee to West Ham. Looks like they just need to confirm that that is what will happen.

I'll say it here - I think Chelsea will win the league, no matter whether or not United get Tevez.

Malouda is a good buy for Chelsea. he is a solid winger.

Tevez going to United.

Both these teams won't be short of options in midfield.

Tevez was the one who announced it!

He has said a lot of things, he told an Argentinian newspaper there was no approach but he's been quite a busy man with the media as you will see if you read the list of quotes at the top of this page.

I wouldn't be sure of anything until the club announce it. A transfer involving Teves would seem a bit messy . The deals that are being speculated are over 50M Euro and it wouldn't necessarily be a permanent move to start with. That would be a club record and they've spent a lot already this summer so I doubt they will rush into anything.

Yeah, just reading the news today it's quite funny; no-one seems to know what's going on - the agent says terms have been agreed and West Ham are OK, West Ham say no-one's talked to them, United say they have 'permission' - but not who from.

It's a really shitty situation, either way. As a United fan, I'd love us to sign Tevez, but this whole saga (right from the time him and Mascherano arrived in London) leaves a very sour taste in the mouth.

Newcastle one of the three clubs raided by police cause of the transfer bungs thing, i feared this would happen, thank you freddy shepherd, no wonder you got the fuck out when you did. I hope shepherd is punished, not us.

Only a few more days to go!

Anyone got any exciting news from their clubs?

Newcastle are about to sign Smith, which surprises me: decent player, worth the money, but do they really need another striker? Looks like Dyer is going, so maybe Smith will play more as a central/attacking midfielder?

Disappointed that Man Utd sold Rossi, he is definitely moving from the 'promising' to the 'Premiership quality' category, but we apparently have first option to buy him back, which would be good.

Both of which means United are about to get Tevez. Brilliant player, but the whole saga totally sickens me (mainly because everyone is clearly pretending that West Ham have any right to the player, when they obviously lied to the League).

Richardson to Sunderland for 6 million makes me happy; talk about over-priced. Chris Eagles looks a far better player to have as a reserve winger.

Chelsea will still win the league.

Man city are getting a decent team together, Sven/that cunt of a chairman have totally changed the club.

^ And lazio yesterday you guys won 2-1, Eduardo scored and that other new striker brentner or somethin. Seems we've just signed Smith, n west ham have agreed a £2million deal with man utd for tevez.

Pretty good, seems to be a natural finisher/good header of the ball which was how he scored. Its clear wenger knows what he's signed. Was a threat to lazio alot.
