eating Nurofen

yes armadilliO. I have been posting on this thread for quite some time now, and I am a heavy codeine user and have been for quite some time.. and I know quite well the threads topic was relating to N+ and ibruprofen ....I simply asked a question which I was unable to find an answer too after reading all the other posts.

If the question I have asked was answered somewhere here, I am sorry but I could not find it. Obviously you must know the answer but failed to provide me with a link or any supporting information...

Thanks a lot, and have a nice night armadilliO.........

BTW I thought BL was about harm reduction? not putting other members of B/L 'down' just because I ask a question and hoped to read others opinions.

smokeblow - I copped a 48 pack of non-splittables too... :( Batch number is 19XX if anyone cares.

thanks for your posts, really appreciate it to help answer my post ... anyway my batch # 47XX:( and none have split so far damn it.

Does anyone think they are purposefully making the 48's non-splittable just to get the abusers pissed off like me...?

Sorry for being snappy :P

It's just that no one KNOWS what the deal is... lol

All speculation

I've had my fair share of unsplittables too, its really a pain when you get home with your loot in hand and it turns out to be unsatisfactory :(

I can bite the splittables in half perfectly now, just takes a bit of practice.
Crunch 'em and throw away the other half... fucking perfect for out and about :)

Maybe someone should email the makers of Neurofen and ask what's going on? :D

Are pharmicists legally allowed to not sell you something?

I'm pretty sure they can refuse a sale of anything they suspect might be "abused"

They are certainly the "gate keepers"

^ Yep. I've never been actually *refused* anything before, but I've pointedly asked for one medication and been STRONGLY pushed towards a different one before. It was Sudafed I believe. I kept asking for Sudafed, they kept pushing other brands (which presumably can't be synthesised into speed). It was quite blatantly clear they weren't going to sell me Sudafed unless I kicked up quite a fuss.

It was really quite offensive as a customer, but what can you do. They do have the right to refuse a sale on any basis - as do any retailers really. In fact I believe pharmacists now have a legal obligation *not* to sell any product which has the potential for abuse to anyone if they are suspicious. That's why a lot ask questions. I'm really surprised more of you don't get questions asked actually - I'm *always* asked, and I look like your average, late 20's normal, executive woman.

Pharmacies are just retailers unless you've got a script, then they have a medical obligation.

Regarding unsplittable N+: If it were the case that the unsplittables simply have stronger binders between the two sides, would heat or humidity do anything to weaken these bonds? I've been thinking about the possibly of slowly heating (or microwaving??) some of the unsplittables to try and find a way to weaken the bonds. I'm just worried that excess heat (or microwave rays :p) might destroy the codeine itself.

Heat/humidity seems like a good idea to me, simply because when I get good splittable pills, they *seem* to split more easily when it is humid or has been a hot day. This may just be co-incidence, but I thought maybe it would apply to non-splittables as well.

Any have any prior experience or advice?

I HATE pharmacy's for that reason. I usually buy my N+ from online where they don't ask questions unless you buy a lot. I once bought 2 x 24 tablet boxes and had to call them as to why I need them.

*Returns from lab*

I just performed the following procedure:

Poured boiling water into a dish and rested a metal tablespoon in the water, so that the top of the spoon remained dry, but the bottom was in contact with the water. Left a whole N+ tablet (from non-splitting batch) on the spoon (dry part) for 10 minutes to heat it. Came back and attempted the split the pill.

Results: The pill split better than usual. Less carving occurred - by this I mean, when I usually try to split unsplittables they will crumble to about halfway, then the bottom half gets carved, leaving the bottom half very sheer and smooth. The result was still not as good as splittable pills, but it was an improvement. The codeine side felt quite a bit softer while the iboprofen was a tiny bit softer.

I then ran the iboprofen side under a tiny bit of water and rubbed. Powder was rubbed away to reveal the familiar curved side that is normally present when the pill splits properly. This makes me believe that it is in fact the same N+ split sides simply with stronger binders.

Now all we need to do is find out how to defeat these new super-strength binders, and non-splittables will become splittable again. Anyone with some chemistry knowledge know how to weaken the bonds?? :)

No probs armadilliO. You are correct, all the discussions so far are sepculation.

Man, if I could also bite N+ in half, I would sure have nice lunches at work, I would be eating those things like lollies! lucky for me the taste makes me gag so i now have to CWE.... which is not something you can do at work in the tea room! hehe...

When I was in QLD last , I was suffering from a bad sinus condition and they wouldn't even give me a single sudfed tab, I cracked the shits and said "thank god for foreign online pharmacies" you should have seen look they gave me :X

Doooofus:/B]

I'm not a chemist or anything - but when reading up on codeine CWE i'm sure i read somewhere that codeine was heat sensative and that if the water used in the CWE was too warm it would destroy it. I don't know how that would effect your experiment but i imagine that if the heat "softened" the binders that it would have a similar effect on the codeine and result in lower yields....

Nice Tits

Edited to show who's experiment i was talking about

Hhhhmmm^^ that gives me a thought...maybe we should start a thread on the numbers for good and bad batches.

In my experience most pharmacies have them behind the counter. Who's going to go in and ask for a 48 pack of nurofen plus, batch 34YY, please?

hahahaha I'd like to see that ;)

I have heard about codeine degrading at higher temperatures, but I figured the damage this could do would be minimal, as the codeine wasn't in direct contact with hot water, and the pill came nowhere near the temperature of the water, it was only warm to the touch.

I have heard that odd batch numbers don't split, even numbers do, i.e. xx18 will split. My unsplittables were xx19, I think smokeblow's most recent unsplittables were an odd number too. Any got an exception to this (rather unfounded) rule?

Rosencavelier - Easily avoidable. Ask to have a look at the 48 pack, pretend to read the back, check the batch number, which is on one of the ends where you open the box... if it's a batch number that you know won't split, tell them you don't want them, or you are going to get your wallet out of the car or something.

I am as warm and high as a kite right now. :)

I posted yesterday and found I purchased a batch of 48's which would not split.. so I have taken the crumbly halves and the rest I disolved in a glass of hot (not boiling) water..
I also took some panadeine fortes I found in an unusual place in my house!!! lucky me... anyhow, I drank the CWE solution with some juice and the hot water did not effect the strenght of codeine.. So I assume it is okay use hot water... I also took some valuim, and a couple beers which is my best relaxed high I get from these three.. I would say I feel so calm and collected and am about to chill on the couch with some of my favorite tunes to forget my crappy days. Codeine to the rescue once again!
