Swiftest cooking and munching of dinner ever. Start to finish in half the time it usually takes to just get something up to temperature. Shopped at the shop I rarely shop at today and they had loadsa fresh pasta for silly cheap prices so had multicheese fresh ravioli for dins smothered wiv slightly swanky green pesto. Three mins to prepare, just under five to eat. The concentration of ravioli is quite spectacular. Is barely a sixth of the volume of a standard dinner but at least as filling. And as tasty. Used to make my own ravs (and tortellinis) from scratch but got no pasta machine (was parents) and you really can't do it by hand unless you're an auld Italian grandma with forearms like skittles. Bloody good for a quid though.

Had a proper nice lamb stew at the venue I've been working at this week for dinner, so tea was a prawn sandwich - homemade, and everything(go gastronomy!)

Actually, this place has been putting on great food all week - had a banging flank steak with szechuan peppercorns yesterday. Problem is the chef is getting shit from the person who has a say in these things and I'm worried it will revert to crowd-pleasing crap. She knows not of what she speaks - goes for the blandest veggie stuff she can order and whinges "it tastes unusual" and "it's not piping hot" (when good food shouldn't be).

I find that most people who say they don't like fish actually end up enjoying it when they have a bit that's properly fresh (which 95% isn't) and has been cooked correctly. It's just hard to get decent quality seafood.

"Fish are luvverly,
fat and blubbery,
fish go splishy-splash too.

Long and flippery,
Short and squiggly,
Mackerel and kippery too.

Fish go flappery,
in your lappery,
Halibut, haddock and hake.

Fish are slippery,
Long and flippery,
Cod all over the plaice."

(paraphrased from a song none of y'all are likely to know but amused me so intensely for so many years it's just plain silly <3)

(the tune is kinda like russian/gypsy squeezebox oompa - it's fairly simple to get the gist of it and add verses as you please :D)

(and yes, obviously comedy slav accents were involved - russian/gypsy oompa tune innit)

Just had dinner in uni halls, fucking hell it was shit. Rice salad and a turkey salad, fucking horrible.

Is why I'm glad my flat at uni was self catered. One of the only ones that was.

I've just got a takeaway with my last fiver or so; chips, chicken burger, fish strips and popcorn chicken with dips. Sampled the eph I bought earlier and still eaten all this so must have seriously undereaten the past week or so.

As long as it's not that tea tree mint stuff that fucking sends you blind

The one on the left makes me tingle like fuck

I always use it for face, although it has been getting a bit dry. Maybe get some proper face wash in town today, and yeah it's no joke if you get it in your eyes!

Got a load of Tango (yes Tango as in the fruity fizzy drink brand Tango) shower gel and liquid soaps from the pound shop a while back. They smell delicious. Used Radox "Berry Burst" shower gel earlier and could honestly lick myself it smells so tasty.

For brekky (well lunch given it was midday before I dragged my arse out of bed) today I had two of the finest bacon rolls I've ever had. I was a bit wary spending a fiver on some local farm bacon but lawdy is it good. Massive rashers and thick as fuck. Just gorgeous. Well worth the extra money I'd say. Think I'll give their sossers a go too next time. Also stupidly expensive but quality costs I suppose. It's expensive shopping and cooking for one anyway so I've mostly decided I may as well go for quality over quantity when it comes to things I actually like eating. Got some nice local cheese too. Truly I am friend to all farmers these days.

Proper farmers bacon, I wouldnt know where to get such things around here as everything is so mechanised and mass produced. :\

I think that the function of my taste buds is starting to return since my latest e-cig quit attempt. Quitting e-cigs seems to have directly lead to a substantial increase in energy so much so that i dont know wtf to do with it all in the evenings, but one result has been generally far less ready meals and generally more interest in food. I think tonight it will be hot cheese and onion quiche with vine tomotoes. Those vine tomatoes really are so much nicer than 'standard' tomatoes, i will probably smother them in olive oil/vinegar/raw garlic dressing and plenty of ketchup for the quiche. The meal may or may not be consumed along with several cans of Fosters.

Tonight I shall eat well:
