Lamb stew 'n' dumplings. Had a craving for stew 'n' dumplings for ages now and finally scratched that itch. Dumplins are from a packet unfortunately and not a patch on homemade. I do actually make a fine dumpling but not got any kitchen scales at the moment and you kinda need to get the amounts right for them to work properly so packet mix it was for now. Rest of it was from scratch though - whole stew pack of veggies (mostly carrots but also parsnip, swede and onions) and lamb steaks that were reduced. Plus a coupla Scotch Bonnets cos I'm a bit of a chilli whore. Forgot to add fresh herbs even though I bought some in but got plenty left to fiddle, faff and finetune over the next few days. Although it's really rather scrummy as it is =D

Filling stuff is stew 'n' dumplings, but may just have saved room for apple pie 'n' ice cream when dins has settled a bit. It needs using up is all. Honest.

Popped in to the local for a roast with a mate earlier. May be regretting the amount of insoluble fibre and other things which are currently excluded from my diet later, but it will have been worth it.

Lashings of lamb stew again. With some leftover mash wot needed using up. Leftover mash is a bit of a novelty - wasn't aware it came in leftover variety but - apparently - if you make too much you don't have to eat it all at once and it transforms into 'leftover mash'. Whoulda thunk it?!? New one on me but a fine discovery all the same :)

Oh, and in thrilling stew update news, it now contains some herbs. Coriander and parsley to be precise. Further updates to come over the next day or two, stew fans.

Well I had fondue for my tea. Gruyere with Weston's cider, like you said. And a "Panch", IIRC, which is a flattish oily bread from ASDA.

I put some mustard and Italian herbs in. It was nice enough that I ate most of the panch and the entire bit of gruyere. Can't be good for your waistline.

Had a fish supper last night, first for ages, was great! I've been eating toast most of last week so it was nice to have some actual food.

Tonight I'm having mushroom, leek and gruyère filo parcels with sweetcorn, I think I'll have some gravy with that too, and for pudding I'm going to have chocolate pudding (birds custard powder with chocolate nesquik) with ice cream (Mackies vanilla). I'm excited about all of this, but mostly the pudding, my mum used to serve that up once a week and it was always my favourite pudding. Proper comfort stuff. %)

Sweetcorn in the above parcels is making me want to spit feathers

Same for pizza .... WAI do people put sweetcorn on pizzas? it's always the gross 'in syrup' variety too, and not the fresh stuff, which tastes like a totally different vegetable

The rest sounds yum

Frozen sweetcorn, not syrupy!

sweetcorn is not going in the parcels, just near them :)

I love sweetcorn on pizzas though :|

I'm battling my addiction with Shish Tawook (chicken kebab) - that a tub of Humus, Moutable and a bottle of the Extra Spicy Nando sauce and Im a happy guy. That being said... all of the above !

Chicken Ceasar Salad :- topped with garlicy croutons and deep fried garlic slices :)
